INSTANT REACTION: Derrick White’s clutch three-pointer gives Boston the gutsy win vs. the Raptors

Chris Forsberg, Brian Scalabrine and Drew Carter join Tom Giles to offer instant reaction and analysis following the Boston Celtics’ 108-105 win against the Toronto Raptors. Despite a poor second-half performance from Boston, and a huge surge by the Raptors, Derrick White sunk a clutch three-pointer with under 30 seconds to play, which ultimately proved to be the difference for Boston. Later, Abby Chin catches up with Kristaps Porzingis in an exclusive 1-on-1 interview following the win.

  1. Derrick white saved them again tonight. In derrick white we trust.

Too many 3s in this game. Not enough post-ups or off-bal cuts. Defense has to be better. Lots of hands down. Low energy too.

  2. Derrick White has truly been the unofficial G.O.A.T of the Celtics since they have signed him. Funny that the games he was gone in this season, we lost.

Once again, we need to find some more great role players for the bench, we don't have enough weapons on the second unit

  3. Glad C's got the win but the offense in that second half wasn't up too par with what we've seen by them to many possession's with no moment and just taking bad 3's and the fact they gave up 4 straight 3's in the start of that 3rd was just weird it really felt like last season where they would get a bit too relax and give up leads but they executed when it matters at least.

  4. am l the only one that noticed DWhite lead the Cs in scoring for 3 quarters vs the sixers even tho Joe took him out at the end of the 1st?

  5. Let's not forget D white hororics during last year playoffs against Miami when he made the last minute layup by far the best underrated trade we picked up from the Spurs is truly paying off now we must lock him down long term.

  6. Way to many 3's , but that is the way the entire NBA is these days. I miss the old days when the low post game was the norm.

  7. Love smarty but playing D White during crunch time this season instead is way much better offensively.. Defensively, not much difference as well..

  8. We played really soft tonight. Even with the win, it wasn’t convincing. Lucky at best.
Too many 3s. It shouldn’t be half of the teams shot.
Drive to the paint. Draw some fouls & get FTs. This coaching method & game style is horrible. Very predictable & stale. Lack versatility. 3s, 3s, 3s, 3s and that’s all

  9. White is the man! I heard a bunch of warriors fans talking tonite and one said "we should just go trade for Derrick White and Horford, they would be a good fit with Curry" Apparently they thought Klay Thompson and Draymond Green for White and Al would be reasonable🤣 People throw around the most delusional trade scenarios. They have no idea how much Brad and all of Boston value what White and Big Al do for this team.

  10. How many players upon hearing a reporter's question take a pause to think and go "good question" before answering. I like this guy. Love that he leads the league in techs as well. He's a keeper.

  11. I love the wins… I’m really not a fan of the bombs-away-mentality though, especially late in games. If this team pulls the same crap as last year just hucking up 3’s and letting their mid range and attacking fall by the wayside and then isn’t there when they need it. I don’t know if Mazzulla gets it, I really don’t.
