Two firsts is definitely a high price but as long as one of those is not the unprotected one from Clippers, then it might be worth it. Would fit like a glove and with Batum, Cov, Oubre, and him, they’d have a lot of potential wings to match up with Boston in a playoff series. Cheap contract next year too.
No one would even know Caruso was in the league if he was Black. He is easily one of the most overhyped, over talked about non factor there is in the league.

The price is inflated because the market is large. Caruso fits on every contending team and into everyone’s cap space. It’s all fun and games until Boston goes over the top with an extra pick to get him on top of what they already have. Or Milwaukee gets an affordable Jrue substitute to cover for Dame. Or Denver gets another smart defender to make Jokic’s life easier.
Teams don’t get worse going after players like Caruso. He doesn’t solve all the problems but he does solve a few.
We would mostly be trading for Caruso for perimeter defense and I think Jaden Springer could be very close to his level with consistent playing time. Caruso is not a great offensive player. You don’t give up 2 Firsts for a guy who isn’t a Starter and is only great on one side of the court. I want Caruso on the Sixers if the price is 2 or 3 2nds and a matching contract, not 2 Firsts which would destroy our ability to trade for a Starter. Caruso is not Jrue.
