In a phrase no one expected to utter this early in the season, The Houston Rockets stretched their winning streak to five games with a 104-101 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night claiming their first In Season Tournament win and an overall 5-3 record in the NBA Standings.
Young stars Jalen Green scored 25 points and Alperen Sengun whose energy was felt all over the floor added 24 points sparking the Rockets win. With a steady dose of veteran presence Fred VanVleet hit consecutive 3-pointers late in the game to close out the Pelicans.
Brandon Ingram led New Orleans with 31 points while Zion Williamson had 24 points and eight rebounds and both had their chances to prevent the rally but missed their chances late.
Dillon Brooks provided some stops late highlighting the overall team effort of this Rockets team. Does the rest of West now have a problem?
