The Toronto Raptors are 6-7, and have a lot of young players who’ve been a mixed bag. They brought in a development coaching staff to help as many of these guys pop, but what are they ACTUALLY expecting these players to become in a few years?

Hey Rob, have you ever heard Eric Smith & Jonesy call games on the radio? Just wondering if you cand do an analysis on those who call games, play-by-play, etc. What you think of Alvin, etc. Why Jack and Matt work so well compared to Alvin and Matt…
Canada Time definitely, you are living in the GTA joke. The person who made PB comment is a douchebag.
Wow! Your friend, whose message you read to us, sounds like a good person who understands people and basketball. Take their advice and be well. I appreciate their statement: “Sometimes the win is to let go.” Take his advice and be well. I truly enjoy and appreciate your presentations.
Informative as always Rob, appreciate the vid. Glad to you're getting praise, care and valid critique from your followers. We appreciate what you do boss!
Very deep podcast. I love the projections of our young players. I’m hoping Koloko gets back soon into the rotation.
I feel like as a Toronto native, who has a passion for screenwriting and basketball, coming across your channel was fate. Keep up the great work.
You are a beast 💪🏼
How did you know that's this team's vision, Rob?
Good day to you sir! Imagine my surprise when I woke up to another live recording, super big thanks to you for hitting it when the idea struck you. Also as a married man, thanks to your significant other for being understanding and supportive of this journey you are on.
Glad you got your sleep Rob! You have the best and most thorough Raps live of them all as you make connections to things outside of ball as well. It was a great bday gift to get another one today. It's appreciated!
Another engaging and compelling video, Rob. Thank you.
Vis-a-vis Koloko: there was a nice moment at the end of Monday’s broadcast that showed Koloko and Jak walking off the court together. I loved the apparent connection— like a mentor and his mentee (if that’s a word).
Not knowing what is going on with Koloko reminds me of being in a traffic jam. You just want to know what’s causing it. You see people getting out of their cars, looking ahead trying to see what’s going on. Once you know — it’s an accident, it’s construction — you can still be frustrated but you’re more at peace with it.
So I wish I knew. And whatever it is, I hope you’re right that he’s quietly learning in the background getting ready for a return to the court. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Another amazing video, thank you Rob.
For Flynn, I did have high hopes for him when he came into the league, and he showed plenty of flashes of it, but to me the Flynn now isn't that same Flynn he used to be.
Nurse never allowed his players, especially the young ones to play through there mistakes, and to add on to that it was clear nurse never liked Flynn for whatever apparent reason. Even in Tampa, Lowry told nurse to play Flynn.
Hopefully Darko gets to unleash Flynn, and help to bring his confidence back. And as of rn you can see that Flynn been getting better. I just hope he takes a bigger leap this year and can actually run the second unit with ease.
Coming into the league, I did say Flynn reminds me of a old school NBA type of PG which is dying these day, kinda like a Steve nash, young baby curry type of player, even his layup package was very similar to Nash. But those hopes were shut down real quick since we never utilize him properly, and rn we would be lucky if he even becomes a decent role player for us off the bench.
Coming into the league Flynn's confidence was high, and that definitely has died down a lot being on the bench for the past 2 season. Hopefully Darko with his mentorship, can help bring his confidence and how he used to play back into him.
Also, I do believe OG has room to grow still, and it's clear that he still does. One thing I wished I saw from OG was, I wished he played during that championship run. I do believe him being on the court especially for the Sixers series that playoffs run we would've won at 6 games and not 7, but the outcome would've been different and we wouldn't have seen the greatest shot of all time from kawhi.
I always said it take 3 solid players to win a chip, and rn I know we have 2 of those players in Scottie and OG, we're still missing that one more piece and solid quality role players.
Pascal is a good player don't get me wrong and this team would struggle like crazy if he wasn't on this team rn, but it comes down to a couple of things, he doesn't fit our timeline, Pascal might be best a third option on a playoffs team. I know people may hate me saying it but it's true.
Pascal was able to shine in the championship run because a lot of eyes were on Lowry, kawhi, gasol, green and no one expecting Pascal to have a breakout season that year so it was easier for him to shine when not all eyes are on him.
And also, we can't pay everyone in the future, so it would be best just to trade Pascal during the deadline. And I would rather pay OG than to pay Pascal since OG is Younger still improving, wants to be defensive player of the year and I do believe OG will be an all star one day and OG fits our timeline Pascal doesn't and I do believe Pascal already peaked within his career.
I've said this before, but if we can trade Pascal for a young prospect like kumiga + draft picks this team will be a lot better in the coming years.
Now if we do this, we also have to ask ourselves how long will it take for kumiga to finally take that leap, especially being the backcourt with Scottie. Scottie already has been taking that leap and we've seen that so far this season. And kumiga, it looks like GSW (Kerr to be exact) stunt his growth when he first got drafted into the league by not allowing him to play, especially through his mistakes.
But I'm certain GSW would consider trading kumiga if it means they get Pascal, I mean there on a 6 game losing streak and need more depth aka a longer player in general that can help facilitate the floor and Pascal would bring that for GSW and Pascal could actually make GSW a contender for the finals.
A few things to think about this upcoming months. But that's just my take.
Forgot to mention, i just wanna see koloko back.
There been so many games where we needed a quicker center when playing certain teams and koloko has that.
Also koloko needs the minutes especially this season to be on the right track and to take a leap.
But it sucks that he's not healthy due to his illness, but i just hope he stays healthy and his respiratory issue goes away. He can be a solid gem for us on the court.
I've seen him, shoot 3s and his form looks solid, I've seen him workout with DeAndre jordan in a video and he has a lot of potential it just sucls that he can't play.
I just wish he has a speedy recovery.
