I think Matt is rationalizing a bit! Mike Brown talks about players… if they are not scoring, they need to affect the game in other ways, HB does not do that, passive role or not!

Irregardless of whether the Kings can get the star they want with a trade, moving HB's non productivity and his 18 mil a year contract will benefit the team, even if they get just a good 2-way player! I say HB, Davion and multiple picks and go after the best deal you can get with that package! Alex Curruso would definitely help the Kings for example and you may not even need that much of a package to get him!
It's also kind of concerning that Keegan hasn't taken as big of a leap as I had hoped. I was thinking he could average 16-18ppg with the same percentages as last year.
And yes, Malik needs to get an extension ASAP. I think Davion is a goner for sure – probably at the deadline, so that should help a little.
Black falcon started all 82 plus playoffs last year. We are banged up now and we need him like it or not 🤷♂️
I hate to be pessimistic but Fox's shaky FT shooting makes me not trust that his 3pt shooting% is gonna stay even close to where it is now. Free throw shooting is a classic indicator of how good of an actual shooter you are. almost all of the guys who consistently shoot a high % on a high volume of threes also shoot well over 80% on free throws. Fox has never sniffed that in a regular season. Last year was his best ever at 78%. This year he's back to low 70s so far. 75% in the playoffs against warriors. Not good
Barnes should have never been re-signed in the first place $18 mil a year is not a discount for a person like Barnes it's an overpay Matt you love Barnes what does he do exactly besides show up once every 10 games or so & don't gimme that leadership BS that's what coaches are for Barnes must go period no disrespect but monte must package him with Davion for almost anything which would be upgrade over those two smh I don't care how healthy Barnes always is he doesn't produce & Matt you know that

They don’t have to give up much personnel they need to tap into the luxury tax if they’re serious about contending.

Barnes is too passive. I know he Kings have a good deal with him but if the Kings wants to win in playoffs. They need a someone who can defend. He is not a good defender anymore. Maybe better than last yr but still Kings need an upgrade.
Let’s not talk trading Harrison at this point. He has fit in, and I agree he definitely has accepted his role and makes the offense work. I don’t think we are contending this year for a championship, until Keegan takes the next leap forward.
Alex Caruso would be an upgrade over HB.
I know getting OG from Toronto is like trying to get blood from a Stone but he’s the best fit then Siakam.

Monk has a cap on how much we can sign him for because of bird rights. Something like 17 plus mil a year over 4 years
If we could get OG and whatever cap filler for Harrison, davion, colby, and (if necessary) picks, id be down for that. But not if we have to give up huerter instead of barnes
