Having this kind of defense off the bench is a luxury.

He always defends the worst player in the court

Damn. I need people to put more respect on this hall of famers name. I hope he ends up winning one.

He’s been surprisingly good on that end of the ball as a Clipper. The off-ball defense and gambling can still be an issue, but even that hasn’t been as bad as I feared

Props to him for stepping up like this

Yeah man, people donā€™t realize how important Russ is to our team. They just shit on him and it pisses me the fuck off. What he did for us last year in the playoffs, what he sacrificed this year and how much passion he has in winning makes me love him 10 times over

  5. While his defense has been really good with the Clippers, barring a bit of waxing/waning with attentiveness; ultimately matchup data in the NBA is notoriously garbage.

If say, Russ’s man crosses him up and then hits a layup at the rim with a soft contest from Theis, then matchup data blames Theis there instead of Russ.

It’s similar to the way drops are tracked in the NFL. They only count drops when it’s the fall equinox, there is no man within 20-yards, and you received a disaster warning from your zodiac fortune for the day. Yet, we all know that if the ball hits your hands and goes right through them, then that is a drop. Some would say if you got a hand on the ball at all, it should be a catch; but at least in those circumstances you can excuse it a bit.

I wish they could teach Russ how to play winning basketball and how to slow down when it matters.

  7. I saw this post and was certain it had to be from MIT but you surprised me.

Russ will be cool if he becomes more selective with his shots and focuses on being the main playmaker otb he can get 7-10 assists a game.

Funny the amount of people Iā€™ve had to teach that said heā€™s ā€œWorse than Hardenā€ at defense

Brodie is great for us because heā€™s willing to pick up the slack where he can

I want to see the clippers get Jonathan Isaac if he becomes available. Isaac contract ($17m) next year is non guaranteed until 1/10/25, do the magic want to pay him as Paolo backup?
