[Andrews] Paul on getting ejected by Foster: “We had a situation years ago and it’s personal … don’t use a tech to get your point across. He says there was situation with his son and there was a meeting while he was with the Clippers with himself, Foster, Doc Rivers, and Paul’s dad.

  1. CP3 said it was something about his son that was involved

  2. [deleted]

His dad? What is this? 2nd grade teacher parent conference ?

  3. scarywolverine

Damn they should absolutely not let this man ref Chriss games. I dont think anyone would even try to argue that Foster isnt calling the games based on personal feelings

  4. dennis_k_g

Yeah this is a blatant conflict of interest and the league office should intervene now. This gonna get ugly.

  5. whosnick7

Im actually kinda surprised that it seems like the foster bias vs cp3 is legit. I always kinda thought it was just a coincidence but damn

  6. StefonDiggsHS

holy shit what? how has this never been disclosed? This could be actually a huge story?

  7. it seems like Foster shouldn’t ref his games if this is true

  8. doinnothin

I tried reading that a few times, but the edible hit and I’m a product of the US public school system.

  9. Which_Hawk_7712

Foster gonna eject him at tip off next time lol

  10. If anything, Silver is just gonna do some slap on the wrist thing about it

  11. Bballopinion

The league needs to investigate this nonsense. Foster has to grow up. He also shouldn’t be reffing CP’s games at all.

  12. NBARefBallFan

In no world does it it make sense for Foster to still be an NBA ref. Not without some massive corruption.

  13. Difficult_E

not finishing the quotation marks threw me off. I didn’t realize Paul wasn’t directly speaking in the second stanza lol

  14. george_costanza1234

There is simply no way the NBA can uphold the integrity of the game when you got refs and players with personal beefs

  15. Padulsky21

The day Chris Paul retires and starts mouthing off on podcasts about his playing days is gonna be legendary. Bro can probably write a book about his interactions with Foster

  16. Viciouscauliflower21

So basically he shouldn’t be allowed to ref any of CP’s games

  17. nullstellensatz1

I feel like he can’t just drop some vague shit like this 8+ years after the fact and not elaborate on it. I’m generally on his side and Scott Foster went way overboard tonight, but that’s wild. Something went down with his son that led to a meeting but he hasn’t brought it up in 8+ years? This sounds like a genuine conflict of interest and if the public had known about it he may have actually been able to get Foster banned from reffing his games.

  18. IsThisMe8

So… did any of the media ask any follow up questions to this?

  19. 2old4gaming

I literally gasped, sat up on my couch, and exclaimed “What the actual fuck??”

  20. Silken_Splendor

This shit is so unprofessional, if Scott Foster can’t get out of his feelings and has had a grudge for a decade, he shouldn’t ref

  21. Major_Wager75

It looks like Scott has been Fostering a grudge 😎

  22. NotLow420

The NBA really only has two options: Fire Scott Foster or come out and defend him.

I’ve seen a lot of comments about how Foster shouldn’t be allowed to ref games with CP3. That isn’t a viable option if you think it through. If the NBA conceded that he was unable to ref a particular player because of bias, then you’re essentially saying he’s not an impartial arbiter. Other players will claim his bias towards them, and Adam Silver will be stuck between a rock and a hard place having already conceded that Scott Foster has a history of holding a grudge.

So the only two options are to fire him or defend him and reject Chris Paul’s claims.

  23. MrEwThatsGross

Add this to the list of many reasons why the NBA officiating is in a terrible terrible state.

  24. Stallion049

If this is true, this puts the 13 straight playoff losses into an entirely new context. We have motive and result. It’s beyond reasonable doubt that Foster has rigged games against Paul.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that Foster hasn’t been kicked from the league. Silver is fucking spineless.

  25. ilickedysharks

Something tells me the NBA isn’t the pinnacle of integrity…

  26. DreadSilver

I miss articles. I have no idea what the fuck she’s is trying to say in this tweet

  27. pinkiebear

Considering there has been proof of bad blood with CP/Foster, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal to just stop having him officiate CP games.

  28. Deathwatch72

I’m actually super confused because if this is anywhere close to accurate what the actual fuck. How can there even possibly be a situation involving Scott Foster Doc Rivers and Chris Paul’s father and more importantly when they say situation with his son are they talking about Chris Paul’s kid because how the fuck does he fit into this

  29. Cudizonedefense

ITT: zero people who watched last night’s game

  30. TechnicalBedroom7758

Chris Paul deserved those 2 techs last night. Idgaf about their history. He’s clearly playing into it and trying to use it as an excuse. Should have shut his yap over a freaking blocking foul that gets called on everyone.

  31. If this is remotely true there nba shouldn’t allow foster to ref his games.
