Hmm I took this totally different. Maybe it’s because I’m used to people who speak English as a second language but to me it came across as this:
“I don’t know if somebody (the person in charge of quality control/the person who should be one was checking) was fired (past tense so no one was doing quality checks tonight), but the Spurs did their job.”
Since it’s all past tense it seems to me that he’s not calling for someone to get fired, but rather muse why it happened in the first place. He did really care that his name was wrong though haha
