I asked Spoelstra about the slippage in fourth quarter defensive rating from last season (top 5) to now (25th). He says it’s been a focus of their film study. But he also thinks the lack of offensive intention is contributing to it.

How can our shooting so consistently go cold in these 4th quarter situations 😭 felt like JRich made a three and that was the only notable offense we had the whole quarter…

It’s nothing new, not sure why people are freaking out.

Last decade has been this way, either a 4th quarter comeback or 4th quarter collapse.

They don’t even try to attack.
I’ve seen people say the defense tightens up or we don’t have a backup point guard, but they don’t even try to fucking keep attacking whenever they have a huge lead. It’s fucking boggling that they are getting this cocky this early when this could very well be their last season together if they don’t win a ring. Fucking ridiculous man

[Serious] Just a reminder to be careful when telling jokes that may be offensive. A few days ago I was talking to some friends, and friends of those friends, at a bar.

I decided to break the ice with the new friends with a few jokes, most of which went down very well…until I decided to tell a few more offensive ones…and picked the worst possible one to start with.

    Here’s the joke I told:

“What do you do if you see an epileptic having a fit in the bath?

Throw your washing (laundry if you’re American) in.”

One of the new friends instantly became enraged and swung for me. When I asked him what the hell his problem was he replied that his younger brother was epileptic and died in the bath many years ago.

Obviously I felt mortified as I didn’t know about it, and said “I’m so sorry to hear that. Did he drown?”

“No,” replied the guy. “He choked on a sock.”
