Felt like the game was a coin flip away from disaster

  2. Dat_Boi_Teo

A little unnecessarily tense there but great win anyways. Glad Jojo wasn’t hurt too bad there

  3. freshjello25

The lady saying “The Minivan?” In that Cure commercial is so awkward.

  4. GirlWithGame

The thunder owe me the last 10 minutes of my life.

Embiid had a very great game defensively and offensively shame he couldn’t get that 10th assist.

Always good to get a win against one of the better teams in the western conference.

  5. _MatWith1T_

The key to this victory was preventing Giddey from getting to the mid teens. Held him to only 10 points

  6. MaxeytoEmbiid

Am I the only one concerned about Nick Nurse’s lineup management? It made no sense at all to take a ball handler off the floor(Maxey) and it almost comes back to bite you. You want Pat Bev in? Fine, but that’s not a guard for guard substitution at that point in the game.

Morris was kinda, sorta better in the second half but he’s still a DNP-CD. He shouldn’t ever touch the floor. We move, but Nick Nurse’s substitution pattern sucks ass.

  7. Spirited-Arugula-672

I feel like it’s the 8th year in a row where the Sixers still haven’t figured out how to beat a full-court press.

  8. CPTHoagie

This should be a real wakeup call for people that somehow believed Tobias Harris could dribble or create his own offense. Nurse had to take him out of the game because he couldnt’ dribble.

  9. RebuildFletcher

Happy with the win after two losses in a row. Embiid was clutch af with a great block and those FT’s. But two things I would like to bring up is that Beverley/Morris lineup is brutal on offense and we should stop with that. We also have had some really poor 4ths this season where we haven’t been able to make enough stops on defense. Gave up 41 points in the 4th today and got lit up towards the end there and that is something they gotta sort out. Oubre back to defend the guards will definitely help in that regard.

  10. Spirited-Arugula-672

    Chet is a beast.

Well, figuratively speaking, he’s a twig defensively. But damn if he’s not skilled and smart.

  11. eagles1990

Sixers win, both parlays hit and everyone is walking away (somewhat) healthy

    Good game

  12. Wish we could close out better, didn’t have to be that close.

  13. PhillyBigboy

Fuck the thunder and fuck their fans good W hope they never win shit

  14. iam_soyboy

I wonder what Joel whispered to Chet after the game when everyone was shaking hands, etc. Seemed good natured & positive from their body language.

  15. killermoose23

Embiid will eventually get a triple double this season

  16. iam_soyboy

~~Advantage of not being in the tournament – a nice 10 day layoff in December for Oubre to get healthy, Maxey, Embiid & Batum to get some rest.~~

Edit: Corrected in replies, they will play, but the games have not been scheduled yet

  17. AggravatingRent1478

Isaiah Joe 4-14 FG, 3-12 from 3. Not even hating here, just amazed we did not get “Revenge Gamed”

  18. jeppsforst

Maxey is going to be dead by the ASB. Need a good backup guard who Nurse can trust to play 15 mpg. Beverley is such a zero on offense and Springer can’t dribble

  19. We definitely need some bench players, we are gonna run our starters to the ground

  20. throwawayjoeyboots

Embiid with 6 pts off FT’s at the end. Intentionally fouled each time.

R/nba will say he’s a FT merchant though

  21. R/nba tonight: alleged pedophile > someone who gets a lot of free throws

  22. Donnerpartytwink

9 blocked shots for the Sixers today. Good effort today, gents.

  23. economist_

Good win against a strong opponent. Lots to work on but that’s a good win

  24. thesixersdontexist

i thought nurse had maybe fixed some of our issues with closing out leads in the 4th, but it seems we still have some work to do with it against good teams. regardless, i’m generally happy with how we’ve played to begin the season. get oubre back, make a trade of some kind and we’re right there with the handful of elite teams

  25. TheAntiCircleJerk

I really want to see how this team looks with Oubre back before we make too many judgments on who needs to be traded. Between Oubre’s accident and Batum’s personal issues, we’ve gotten all of like 1 or 2 games with our rotation.

Clearly we need another ball handler, but seeing the complete rotation will let us identify if we need 1 or 2 pieces.

  26. stats_commenter

had to listen to okc broadcast. that commentator was the most miserable crybaby ive ever heard. all he did all game was whine about the free throw line, starting quarter one and through the garbage game extenders at the end. Jesus christ

  27. Ctaymoney

Love how Tyrese has been taking over fourth quarters with Jo on the bench to start

  28. Spite_Annual

No matter what people say. A win is a win. Yes, the teams need work on closing games but still this against a legit OKC team whose recordis no fluke. We’ll get better eith every game.

  29. LionWhiskeyDeliverer

When our guys are shooting well we have an unstoppable rotation of veteran, and good rhythm shooters. When they’re off they’re really off for two to three games at a time, all of them. Reed is very consistent at what he does well, but his progression on his weaknesses seems to be slowly coming along.

Pat Bev doesn’t have his legs anymore and cannot be played more than eight minutes in a playoff setting. His shots are always short and his defense is a step behind. Great roll model to have around, and I think he really likes being here, but we should keep him around as our Haslem.

I can see this team catching a stride at some point but we have to figure out our defense and somehow Nurse and Embiid need to put the hot/cold shooters in the best position to score. If I was Nurse I’d be challenging Embiid to get better as a passer throughout the year and get Melton/Tobi the looks they can hit consistently.

  30. Worldly-Fortune-802

Should have been a blowout but we went around the horn shooting bricks there when OKC was giving up

  31. I am not worried about the scoring from the bench, oubre will help a lot, melton is ok but not a starter, we should trade for brogdon, lavine, donovan mitchell unfortunately wont be available, bridges would be the best fit possible but is unlikely he will be traded this season

  32. Brianopolis-Brians

The OKC Thunder as a franchise are just the right age for Josh Giddey.

  33. Philly-lifegoeson

Embiid the passer makes this team a very difficult opponent. I would like to see them get a back up pg.

  34. Sixers love making what should be a double digit win a 1 possession game in the last 2 minutes
