  1. very solid hopefully this positive outcome leads to a stronger effort tomorrow since we’re gonna need it

  2. Obelisk00

Might’ve won but at what cost… the 140 streak ends.

  3. ahend1999

nice win, worried about jj timeline….how fcked are we without him? what do you think the plan is?

  4. KelvinHuerter

Was a must-win game against the worst team in the league. Tomorrow awaits the real test!

Glad Trae is getting back into rhythm

  5. Acceptable-Taste-912

If you think our defense was bad before, just wait for no JJ basketball

  6. manicdthenomad

I know it’s against the wizards, but it with all sincerity: if all you have to say about this team is that we’re “mid”, or that we should have drafted Doncic, go be a fan of the Mavs, or some other team. Shit is old

  7. Yippieee we won a game we’re supposed to win. It is actually important that we do this

  8. IllumiXXZoldyck

We won. Very sad with the unfortunate injury of Jalen. We can only hope that this team pulls enough together to push forward down the stretch.

  9. No-Forever-6104

I need game 5 Trae tomorrow cuz fuck the Celtics

  10. legal-drugdealer

Trae +40, says it all really. If you’re a doomer respectfully get outta here.

  11. Shade_Raven

We won but at what cost?

    I need the prince unharmed?

  12. Ok-Negotiation3897

Nice lil win before we go back to .500 tomorrow. Can’t see us beating the Celtics in the Garden, especially when they’re coming off a loss. Can hope tho

  13. DorkandPoon

I definitely thought this was a trap game. So I’m unreasonably happy about beating a team with two wins

  14. IllumiXXZoldyck

Let’s look at some positives. Trae had great efficiency with a +40. Dejounte struggled on the shot but made up for it with assists. Another decent Deandre Hunter game. Quality bench minutes. And more! Looking forward to carrying this momentum against the Celtics.

  15. I’m happy w the win but my night is ruined. Prayers for JJ

  16. KnightRising21

My first live Hawks regular season game. I really enjoying watching this team and I’m excited to watch more of the season with everyone. I hope Jalen Johnson’s injury isn’t to severe and he will be back when he’s ready. That was definitely a bummer. Trae’s long range three’s are so freaking cool and being a life long suns fan, not used to the three ball, it’s fascinating to watch. I already feel like my league pass was worth the money. Can’t wait for the Celtics game tomorrow. I need some Hawks merch asap.

Trae Young post-game comments with Steve Holman:

“I think this is my best year defensively…”

  18. Rewatching that Jalen injury made me tear up a bit, I really hope it’s not a break. Please basketball gods please!!!

  19. I just realized that both Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole have rings. That’s crazy

  20. Loverofsports2022

At least it wasn’t JJ’s shooting hand, as long as he didn’t fracture it, I don’t think he’ll miss but a couple of weeks.

  21. No-Forever-6104

30/11 on 64 TS for the last 7 games is pretty good for a player who’s apparently washed

  22. ahend1999

we closing out nov 3-0 😝😝😝 i see the future

  23. 3LitersofJokicCola

If JJ’s wrist injury is serious may the basketball Gods smite the Wizards with the worst possible pick their lottery odds allow.

  24. MrsGroover

Hurt at the thought of JJ potentially being out for a few games. 😪 If we beat Cleveland on Tuesday we have a real chance of getting a wildcard spot in the knockout round. Prayers up for Jalen 🙏

  25. Ill-Setting-4518

Didn’t watch the game, what happened to JJ?

  26. Your Hawks came to the capital and took care of business beating the Washington Wizards 136-108.

Dejounte Murray Highlights: (Q1:10:00) Murray got a steal from behind on Kuzma which led to a fastbreak and a bucket from CC. (Q1: 6:29) Murray hit a layup driving from the corner. (Q1: 5:30) Murray turned on the jets and was able to get a layup to go in transition. (Q1:2:10) Murray played the passing lanes well and got a steal which led to him going coast to coast and getting a foul on the other end.(Q3: 6:00) Murray made a pull up three points from the top of the key by using a Capela three. This hit all net. A green release.

Dejounte Murray Summary: Murray ended with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and 4 steals on 4/14 shooting in 26 minutes of playing time. This included ⅙ from three and 2 free throw makes. He was ultra aggressive to start the game and shot the ball 8 times and made 3 shots. After that he did not make another shot until the 3rd quarter where he made ¼.  To be honest I thought he shot a little better and had more points. This was his worst night from three in a very long time.  Outside of the shooting Murray had a stellar night passing the ball 10 assists with 0 turnovers. He was very active in the passing lanes and was able to get steals. He took a bit more gambles on defense but it paid off. He got 0 fouls in addition to the steals.  He was solid on the boards as well. Although he was inefficient, he was great everywhere else. Grade: B

Deandre Hunter Highlights:(Q1:8:22) Hunter got a dunk attempt on the break and got a foul call. (Q1: 7:51) Hunter was able to get into the paint and made an and-1 floater shot. (Q1: 6:15) Hunter got called for a traveling violation after receiving the ball in the midrange area and tried to face up. (Q1: 4:29) Hunter was able to pluck Kyle Kuzma’s dribble but unfortunately the wizards got the ball back.(Q2: 2:32) Hunter got a stepback three to go in. (Q3: 4:00) Hunter was able to use the screen to get to the middle and then use the stepback into a midrange shot. The next possession Murray found him under the basket in transition for an open basket.

Deandre Hunter Highlights: Hunter ended the game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals, and 0 blocks. He did this on 7/11 fg and ⅗ 3pt. He went to the line a couple times and shot 3/3.  He was great and efficient as a scorer. He was able to get to his hot zones and make the defense pay. His teammates found him in the correct spots. Hunter said as much in the halftime interview. He was excellent in that half scoring 16 points. He went 2/2 in the first quarter. He went ¾ from three in the second. The rebounding was mid. Playmaking wasn’t great. He was able to create some havoc defensively and got a couple of deflections. I thought his on ball defense was solid tonight. It was a typical Hunter game except he was very efficient and better on defense than usual. Grade: B+

Trae Young Highlights: (Q1: 7:25) Trae matched up 1v1 on Daniel Gifford and made a stepback long distance bomb. (Q1: 1:04) Trae worked the Pick and Roll with OO and found him for a lob. (Q2: :30) After a cold spell shooting wise, Trae was left open from three. He made them pay with one from the wing. For the final play of the Quarter Trae drives and draws a couple of defenders he finds Hunter in the corner for a three that was fairly contrested. .(Q3: 2:03) Trae ran a PNR with OO once he got in the middle he hit a floater and drew a foul for his first of the night. (Q4: 11:34) Trae got the ball from Bogi on the perimeter from Bogi. He faked, side stepped and drained the shot. (Q4: 10:50) Trae shot a long range three and made it. He fell to the ground but instead of a 4 point play he got called for an offensive foul. This prompted a coach’s challenge from Quinn Snider which was unsuccessful. (Q4: 10:00) Trae’s hot shooting continued this time with a stepback three make.

Trae Young Summary: Trae ended with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals on 9/17 FG. He made ⅝ from three. The three ball was back and it was nice to see Trae hit some difficult attempts. The only downside to his offense tonight was his efficiency inside where he went ⅜. Like the Nets game, I thought he was missing floaters that he would normally make. He was particularly cold from inside in the second quarter where he went 0/3 from inside. Three ft attempted is very low for Trae which shows how good scoring wise he could be if he was more efficient. Trae’s rebounding was excellent tonight along with his playmaking. He was executing fancy passes and finding teammates in the right places, just a good floor general. Two turnovers is very good for Trae. He continued his improved defense and was able to get two steals. He felt like he controlled the whole game as he cruised to an easy win. Grade: A

Jalen Johnson: Jalen started strong in the first quarter which included a finish and a three pointer. (Q2: 11:00) Jalen got a steal and went coast to coast for a jam. (Q2: 9:35) Jalen got another steal on Kuzma and went coast to coast on the jam attempt Kuzla fouled him hard and he landed on his wrist. He was in a fetal position in pain. At the free throw line he still looked like he was in alot of pain he missed the first one. He shot the second one with one hand and made that. After, OO took a “take foul” so he could be subbed for Hunter and go to the locker room. There was no additional review or flagrant calls ect. Later in the game it was announced that he would not be returning.

Jalen Johnson Summary: Jalen ended with 8 points, 1 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals on ¾  shooting including ½ from three in 8 minutes. Unfortunately Jalen got injured but in the time he played he made a great impact on the game. He was efficient. He created Havoc on defense and was +7 in the time he played. Hope his wrist gets better soon. He played at an “A” grade’s pace so that’s what I’ll give him. Grade: A
