Love how the refs can’t get a fucking call right even WITH instant replay. This league is a fucking joke.

Are we watching the same video? He does nothing with the right arm lol that is completely incidental. Whether or not it should have been Portland ball afterward is a different debate (it looked like Ayton would have had it) but that’s just not a foul at all

    Just listen to Lamar.

When you watch it at full speed, Giannis is clearly getting leverage on Brogdon with his right arm on Brogs left arm/shoulder. It’s part of the gather to the shot and I feel like that’s what the refs initially called the whistle on. Also Giannis did not have great defensive position being on the side or even a half step behind Brogdon.

Like others have said, Jabari got called for an identical block/foul against Memphis and it went to review and went in favor of Memphis. Would be nice for the refs to be consistent even just for one continuous game.

  4. Pretty obvious contact there. Pretty obvious superstar call overturning. Kevin and Lamar tell no lies.

i love kevin and lamar and i hope they both stick with us for a while. kevin might go back to seattle if the sonics return soon, so i’m just gonna appreciate every game where we get to have them

  6. Contact w the right arm and even more clear on the follow through. He def got ball but too much arm as well. Brogdon signaled for it immediately

Last I checked it’s foul if you push through someone’s arm to block the ball, but rules don’t apply to superstars like Giannis.

  8. Yes you can call a foul on this play, and yes of course this gets overturned because of Giannis.

But the thing to me is that IF this play was a clean block, as the refs overturned it to be, then the refs should not have blown the whistle. If the whistle is not blown, Ayton would have gotten the ball and we would have a secound chance at the tie or the lead.
But according to the rules it had to be a jump ball.

    Very unfortunate.
