He just turned 19 like 4 days before the draft. I won’t blame a kid for being happy finding out the next years of his life are not in what they have heard is a boring city
xpillindaass
can’t blame him
costcobathroom
he got that Harden in him
Classics22
Can’t blame him, can you imagine being a foreign player and learning you’re going to live in Oklahoma?
not_so_bueno
He literally couldn’t speak English and only going off what someone said. It’s true there’s not much Turkish people there. None story really especially for a foreigner.

He’s not wrong OKC is boring lol. I think Oklahoma residents don’t realize how low level the city actually is. Or how much better it could be. But the housing is cheap is so 🤷🏿♂️. But at his age and wealth that doesn’t matter. Even worse it you’re not super close with your team mates, something Kevin Durant struggled with.

Imagine sengun on this okc squad… damn

If you google the Turkish population in Houston it says 5,000.
If you google the Turkish population in Oklahoma it shows you the population of turkeys.
Impressive_Blood3512
I was told international players don’t think like this, lol
carpanacalan
I think he meant that Houston is more cosmopolitan than Oklahoma and more Turkish people live there. So if you know he didn’t know English when he drafted, it makes sense.
Headlesshorsman02
Good for him 👍
TruckThunders00
I’m from OKC and I agree. That’s why I left when I was 21.
murkddd
PG couldn’t help nodding in agreement lol
Carlomattina
Spurs could draft him and went to Primo
SnooPies6274
He’s a fun guy

OKC strip clubs are still in shambles since James left
Finesse_Delacroix
Maybe Presti should run that city too. Let him rebuild it into an attraction so he doesn’t have to play GM on hard mode.

OKC is pretty dope though. I visited a few times, I had tons of fun. Obviously, it’s no Houston, but I wouldn’t call it boring.

Y’all think OKC is boring let me tell you about Maine…

He’s not wrong.

OKC is the most boring NBA city in the country. Yea I’m aware SLC exists. Ive always found it insane that they moved a team from Seattle to OKC of all places. But there’s nothing else to do so you may as well hit every game you can.

I’ve traveled to pretty much every NBA city through work and there is no doubt that OKC is the most boring nba city.
I mean no offense to the fine people living there, it’s just a very very small market without a lot of excitement.
One_Frosting_5507
Imagine coming from Istanbul to Oklahoma with absolutely zero English knowledge at the age of 19. Ofc he would prefer to be in a big city where he can find his community

I took my parents and brother to the Rockets Grizz game last week and my mom who usually doesn’t care for sports LOVED Sengun. She said he reminds her of raising me and my brother. She says he’s always getting up to mischief on the court, flailing his arms, looking confused, getting involved in whatever scrappiness happens. I don’t think she meant it as an insult lol. He didn’t even have a great game, and she didn’t care at all about Jalen Green who scored 34 points.
I really like Sengun. I’ve gone to like 3 rockets games this year, they’ve won all of them and the vibes are great. With fees I paid the same price for 4 tickets in Houston that I’d pay for one ticket of an equivalent seat in NY. If only shit stayed open past 10pm in downtown Houston.

I love OKC but I’m not a 20-year-old millionaire. It’s like that
HungryHobbits
I’m not exactly sure why but this thread title and quote got me laughing and my abs are super sore from family reunion football, and it kinda hurt
Pesto_Skeptic
Houston probably is cool for a millionaire NBA player. In my opinion it’s one of the worst and most bland cities in America.
