The Phoenix Suns came into the season as one of the most interesting contenders in the NBA. With Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker as a strong but somewhat injury prone big three and a decent cast of role players, it felt like the Suns could compete with anyone if they stayed healthy. They haven’t been able to avoid injuries up to this point yet are still the hottest team in basketball and one of the best teams in the West. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker have both been top ten players, the supporting cast is stepping up, and this may only be the beginning for how good they can get. Let’s talk about it.

As a suns fan i have 2 optimistic things to say. Devin booker so far had been our best defensive player with i think a defensive rating of 98 or something. Also metu, bates diop, gordon, and okogie are REALLY good for this team
At what point in the season do the Suns big 3 NEED to be healthy and start playing together for chemistry purposes to make a deep playoff run?
They outrebounded the knicks and beat the wolves (probably the best defence in the league) by 18.
Still got the Lakers miles ahead of them. They lost two games to us already so I'm not worried.
It's much better to let Beal rest his back until it's ready for play rather than have him injure it again from going back too soon. They want him healthy for the playoffs and they can afford to let him rest for now.

I think the Sun's confirm that we need to stop pigeon holding people as pure scorers. Ant has also shown that you never really stop growing as a player until you hang it up for good, it's all up to the player
The way Booker moves around the court and facilitates you can tell he learned a lot from Chris Paul

Beal was named the starting point guard coming into the season. Unfortunately for him, he hasn't been able to get on the court and take that role. This may be a blessing in disguise for the Suns, since Book has stepped up into that role and excelled. It looks like he will hold onto it, even if Beal makes a healthy return.
I believe the Suns defense has been really disappointing so far, last season our defensive rating was 7th best at 112.3, this year at 18th so far with 113.8, average defensive rating was slightly higher last year also ( 113.1 and now 112.8) and I had the expectation this team would have a better defense since we added some size and length. Also, last year we were #8 in points allowed in the paint 48.6, this year so far 23rd at 52.7.

Suns are cool and fun but even with Beal, I don’t understand how they expect to make a deep run to get out of west. Whose stopping Davis, Jokic, hell even Sabonis. Which sucks too cause not a suns fan but KD and Booker are balling. Nurcic ain’t doing a damn thing for matchups like that and they have no capital to make any further trade
