Three straight plays in the 3rd quarter: Look at LeBron’s reactions 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ 1. Prince falls asleep, gives up an open 3, 2. D’Lo falls asleep, gives up an open 3, and 3. Prince falls asleep, gives up a dunk

I’m honestly at a loss for words. Why are mediocre defenders helping off of super hot shooters to help ANTHONY DAVIS play defense?

  2. Mood_Academic

I def noticed that in game. I swear he sometimes will look at the coaching staff throughout his career when this type of things happens and it almost feels like he’s glaring at them in an almost “I hate this scheme, fix this gameplan” type of thing

That first basket is just so incredibly easy. Like a wide open gym shot.

I get why he isn’t playing D himself, and I don’t have a huge problem with it because he has to manage his energy. But you do have to ask how realistic it is to expect your teammates to put in the effort that you are not.

Terrible though we’ve been without him on the floor, it might be time to start playing a lot less minutes so he can play both ways effectively the whole time he’s in the game, not just the 4th. Time for the other guys to step up.

I thought Ham was supposed to motivate this team to play defense. That was his whole gimmick.

Once we get Ariza and Horry back we’ll be fine

Man I miss the days Lebron cared enough/had enough influence to get the coach fired. Ham should get the David Blatt treatment.

  8. Okay, I’m genuinely asking an ignorant basketball question, but why don’t NBA defenders position themselves closer to shooters?

In each of those plays, the defender shades toward Embiid–is it me or is that overthinking defense?

I understand that an NBA defense is much more sophisticated than what works for me in pick-up, but damn. Watching those plays over and over leaves me simply confused.

If you don’t have a play on the ball stick to your guy. Not sure if this clip is from coaching or player mistake.

They are not falling asleep. Ham’s gameplan was for them to “show” Embiid a double.

That’s why LeBron is looking at the coaching staff.

Ham’s defensive scheme is to let the opposing team shoot their threes.

    Similar defensive philosophy from
    Budenholzer’s Bucks.

I’m not sure if the players are to blame for this. From the looks of it they are in a zone defense. Why would you put this shit defense when the opposing team is on fire from three.

They need vando, Rui and Vincent back desperately. Hopefully that’s soon

  13. Steegumpoota

Why the hell are they looking to double Embiid that far away from the basket? People, stop defending Ham. This type of coaching is inexcusable.

This isn’t really clip worthy, this is LeBron’s literal reaction to every opponents made basket.

Plus, D Lo defense wasn’t even that bad on number two, that was just a good shot

Man LeBron should not be giving this kind of body language when he gives up the exact same stuff

  16. This is scheme, not players “falling asleep”. They’ve clearly been instructed to help on Embiid and are likely looking to “form a wall” to keep him from muscling his way to the paint. We also clearly instructed our guys to ignore people like Bev and basically dare them to shoot, and they knocked those looks down. Blame the coaching staff for not adjusting with the Sixers shooting lights out.
