Difference between Nets wins/losses heavily decided by Defensive Rating

Cavs fan here. I was doing some analysis on the difference between NBA teams wins and losses and some of the advanced stats involved. I did this by grabbing the difference between Offensive and Defensive rating in wins and losses and comparing the two.

What I found interesting was that the Nets wins this season are virtually unaffected by Offensive Rating (in fact your guys offensive rating is slightly WORSE in wins than in losses), but Defensive Rating is significantly different. Thought you all may find interesting and wanted to share.

The offense has surprisingly been good for this team. The defense was surprisingly not been good given the personnel

This team also tends to completely sell out against great offensive players (Embiid, Tatum) which leads to them sending hard and predictable doubles, which leads to said offensive forces getting theirs while also easily involving their teammates

I think this is because our new defensive philosophy. We’ve essentially taken the bucks philosophy with budenholzer. allow threes but sell out for rebounds and protecting the paint. Issue is we don’t have great rim protectors outside of claxton but he isn’t a traditional drop big.

Personally think our drop isn’t working at all. If teams get hot from 3 they destroy us. Yeah we’re rebounding it wel but rebounding isn’t defense
