  1. I can never get over us trading three 1sts for a juiced up Delon Wright without defence bruh

  2. Old_Letter_5668

Can we bring back nate? (Asking for a friend)

  3. Medium_Line3088

Back to back to back play in champions of the world

  4. BretonHero

I got cooked for saying this but this team has actual consistent issues which need to addressed to even make a playoff spot. Idc if Trae and DJ have off nights, they have proved to be able to play at an all star level.

    – Rebounding
    – Size
    – DEFENCE (Perimeter especially)

Until this is addressed we could have Trae and DJ playing like Prime MJ and Magic and we would not win s*** due to how inconsistent we are with these major problems.

  5. Blumpkin_Party

In season tournament: new and creative format for the same old Hawks to disappoint

  6. YeeezusWept

Ngl, it feels like we’re maybe a season away from being a Bulls/Wizards tier team

  7. No-Forever-6104

Trae and JJ OO can stay too but everyone else can be shot up into the moon

  8. atlsportsburner

Can’t win many games if you give up 30 points a quarter every night

  9. WzrdKelly10

We our underestimating how important JJ is now and what we are losing without him. It’s not just his 14 ppg but how he’s getting it that helps our team. It’s limited so I’m just going by my eyes but our transition offense has dropped and our offensive rebounding has dropped. We’re missing his playmaking. Lastly, his DEFENSE. Bey is garbage defensively. Hunter is cool but Jalen is our best impact defender. He gets those important blocks you need while being a complete mismatch defender for guards. Like he would have gave DMitch problems tonight that no one else can do. Hopefully, we adjust soon these next couple weeks because this can get ugly without him.

  10. No-Forever-6104

Saddiq bey is the worst defender on the roster and when u look at the other players that’s a ginormous feat to accomplish

  11. tarunpopo

After seeing all this saddiq talk, it’s why he’s been traded from Detroit

  12. ConfuciusBr0s

Trae really fooled this sub into thinking his shot is back

  13. HotDamnStan

We need to get some big men. Clint just isn’t it and we don’t have a true 4. Wonder if the Timberwolves would be willing to part with one of theirs.

  14. vernalagnia

really a tragedy that the wolves are actually good now and we can’t even do the Kat-Trae misery swap anymore. We’re just stuck with this lmao

  15. Th3OriginalPancak3

Our ceiling is mid at best as long as this team is built around Trae

  16. Ajbksfinest

Bad roster was built around Trae, simple as that. 6 years and the most notable perimeter defender was fucking delon wright. Don’t know how you draft a short, defensive liability point guard and developing defensive wings wasn’t a priority.

  17. Loverofsports2022

The major problem is the only decent perimeter defender is Dre and that arch is pretty big. I think with him and Jalen figuring things out that their defense was about to click. Shame Jalen is hurt. But I do think Quin has to start OO and CC at this point. Bey needs to go back to the bench. But the lineup has to have them playing together for a bit. I think they’d help cover each other’s deficits. This game was odd because both DJ and Trae had off nights with shooting. Sadly Bogi and Dre were the best offense and they were just ok as far as efficiency goes.

  18. ahend1999

we gotta start booing these dudes at home 😭😭 maybe then ressler will realize

  19. Miserable-Sun7577

Game completely slipped my mind 30mins before tipoff. Looking at this boxscore.. thank fuck it did. Evan Mobley single handedly more than doubled our team in blocks.

Jalen going down has really put a spotlight on the lack of playmaking outside of Trae. I could with DJMs streaky shooting if he was able to consistently get our other players easy looks. I love his energy, but nothing I’ve seen on the court this year makes me any confident in the team fit.

Ideally I think he needs to play on a team with better on-ball defenders that allow him to use his length to gamble on steals off-ball and on offense act as more of a microwave scorer.

  20. Your Hawks have a terrible loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-128. Not a lot of highlights tonight.

Dejounte Murray Highlights: Murray started his night off with a pull-up three. (Q1:4:26) Murray got a contact layup over Max Stuss to go in. On the next possession, he made a pull-up three in transition. (Q3:9:50) Murray nailed a catch and shoot three created from some Hawks ball movement. (Q3 3:03) Murray was able to get in the lane and hit a tough contact finish over LaVert.

Dejounte Murray Summary: Murray ended with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block. He did this on 5/14fg and 3/7 from three. His only good quarter scoring-wise was the first where he shot ⅗ fg. He was at least solid on defense His decision-making wasn’t great and he had three turnovers tonight. I was hoping Murray could at least playmaking if the shot isn’t going down more like Trae. Defensively he was able to create some Havoc but I didn’t think he was good on the ball. Rebounding wasn’t great for Murray. We could have used a few more to lessen the effect of Mitchell’s 11. Grade: F

Clint Capela Highlights: Capela got a steal on a pass unfortunately he could not covert the shot on the other end (Q1: 9:07) Capela was able to draw a foul under the basket. He made 1 free throw (Q1: 8:45) Clint was able to bang down low and made a turnaround hook. (Q1: 7:55) Capela got an offensive rebound and made the putback shot. (Q1: 7:15) Clint made another shot off a Bey pass.

Clint Capela Summary: Clint ended with 14 points, 9 rebounds steals, and 2 blocks on 6/10 shooting. Clint had his best stretch in the 1st quarter where he went for 8 points on ⅗ fg. He was also solid defensively and was able to create havoc. Clint was okay on the glass he did have 6 offensive rebounds but only 3 defensive boards. He struggled against Mobley and Allen on the boards in my opinion. I think he was average defensively but he was one of the few players who were physical. He had a couple of clumsy moments. Grade: B-

Deandre Hunter Highlights: Dre started the night with a self-created mid-range jumper. (Q1: 9:17) he got a foul and made his free throws. (Q2: 7:15) Dre was able to get to the paint and hit a highly contested floater. He threw his arms up to the refs asking for a foul that wasn’t called.
(Q2: 6:03)Got into foul trouble with his third. He was bumped into the ground and left the game in pain holding his pinkie. Hunter had to be taken out of the game and headed to the locker room where we later found out he dislocated his pinky. I think it’s the same finger he dislocated before. Luckily Dre was able to return to the game starting in the third quarter. (Q3 4:31) Hunter was able to turn the corner on Mobley and was able to make an and-1 layup. Q4 5:03 Dre hit an open three off a Trae pass.

Deandre Hunter Summary: Dre ended with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists on 5/12 FG and ⅙ from three. Although the efficiency was ok he was still our leading scorer. He didn’t start the game well and went ⅕ including 3 missed threes. After that, he was ok on offense. Dre was solid in the midrange area making jumpers and floater-type shots. He only had one bucket in the restricted area. That said he was still aggressive in getting to the rim because he drew some fouls and went to the line a few times. He made all 7 free throw attempts. To be honest there were a couple of possessions where he didn’t get a foul call. His defense was valuable tonight because as soon as he dislocated his pinky the Cavilers went on a 17-2 run. With no Jalen Johnson, the Hawks had no positive defenders who could guard the perimeter until he came back in the 3rd quarter. He was average in terms of playmaking and rebounding. It was a solid Hunter game. He was player of the game tonight. Grade: B

Trae Young (Q1:1:04) Trae used an Okongwu screen and made a pull-up three-pointer. The next possession he ran PNR w/ OO and found him for a lob. (Q3:8:36) Trae found Capela for an easy layup in the pick and roll. (Q3 0:22) Trae answered a Garland three. He made him fall maybe with a slight push-off. This gave Trae the time to set himself up and nail the shot. Trae ended with 13 points, 1 rebound, 10 assists, and 1 steal on 3/14 fg including 2/8 from three. He was able to get to the line three times and made ⅚ shots. Offensively he simply wasn’t good as a scorer. He was good as a playmaker with only three turnovers. Defensively he gave some effort and was able to grab a steal. He also had a play where it looked like he was going to get a chase-down block. Grade: D

Onyekya Okongwu: (Q2 11:30) Okongwu nailed a catch and shoot three from the wing. (Q4:6:40) OO had an acrobatic layup while filling the lane in transition. OO ended with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists on 4/8 shooting including 1 three. It was nice to finally see an open three go in. He wasn’t as efficient in the paint as normal and went 3/7. He was good at getting to the line tonight and he made ⅘ ft. Although he got more rebounds than he did normally, I still felt there were times he was getting outrebounded by the Cav’s big men and struggled a little with the size. He was okay on defense but not a force. Grade: B-
