The Nets beating Toronto tonight means Boston wins Group C and advances to the quarterfinals. Only question left: if Milwaukee wins, it wins Group B. If Milwaukee loses to Miami by less than 10, Bucks are wild card. If Bucks lose by 10, Cavs – who won by 23 – will be wild card.

We’re going to get Miami… aren’t we? Fucking hell.

Eff the haters. This shit is awesome. I was just watching the Nets-Raps on my phone, outside of the bar, in 20° weather just so I could see how it ended.

Me cheering for the Nets and Miami in the same night. This in season tournament low key wild

The refs will find a way to keep the Bucks in it. 0% chance they’re out.

One day, Albert Einstein was on his way to a science convention for a speech. On the way there, he tells his driver that looks a bit like him:

“I’m sick of all these conferences. I always say the same things over and over!”

The driver agrees: “You’re right. As your driver, I attended all of them, and even though I don’t know anything about science, I could give the conference in your place.”

“That’s a great idea!” says Einstein. “Let’s switch places then!”

So they switch clothes and as soon as they arrive, the driver dressed as Einstein goes on stage and starts giving the usual speech, while the real Einstein, dressed as the car driver, attends it.

But in the crowd, there is one scientist who wants to impress everyone and thinks of a very difficult question to ask Einstein, hoping he won’t be able to respond. So this guy stands up and interrupts the conference by posing his very difficult question. The whole room goes silent, holding their breath, waiting for the response.

The driver looks at him, dead in the eye, and says :

“Sir, your question is so easy that I’m going to let my driver explain it to you.”

Does anyone know what the bracket looks like for the Quarterfinals? Is it like East A vs. B then C vs. Wildcard or something random?

This IST is turning out to be a lot of fun. The guys showed up tonight like they wanted this win and wanted it big to get to the next round. Other than the courts I’m loving the IST so far.

  9. Not that it matters now, but he was wrong about the situation with Milwaukee. If Milwaukee had lost, they would have been eliminated regardless off the number. Their group would have gone to a 3 way tie breaker with NYK winning, then it would have gone to a head to head tie breaker for second place in the group, where Miami would have taken 2nd place. Then all the second place teams would have matched up. The fact that Milwaukee would have had the highest differential wouldn’t have mattered, because only 2nd place teams count in the wild card tiebreaker.

I couldn’t care less. I know this will get downvoted because it’s not a popular opinion but I only care about the playoffs and us winning a championship. Not some meaningless in-season tournament

While I love seeing us advance, I don’t understand why.

Because we lost to the Magic, and the tournament page said it was the results between tied teams that would decide.

Another thing is OKC, they are +24 DIFF, but lost 3 of their 4 games. That win was wild.
