I think he already is ROY from the standpoint of what he adds and where he is… think of this: He may be seen as the third best rookie, but he's playing on a team where he's not dependent upon because of the quality of the team prior to him being drafted. Jaques is playing with the ECF Champions, and is a great talent coming to a team with great talent, showing his skills just the same. Journos love popular copycat narratives, so Wembanyama runs away with it… I agree with the 7:16 comment
Jaime would have to start averaging 20+ to start getting consideration for ROY. Chet should be ROY, he's top 5 in Pts/Reb/Stl/Blk/Eff/FG%/3P%/FT% and 6th in assists among rookies. In quite a few other draft years, Jaime would win ROY, but Chet and Wemby just have too much, especially with the NBA tying a rocket to wemby already
Jaime is a hooper and he’s playing great but JJ saying he’s the difference between making the Heat a championship contender is a stretch.
