[Warriors +/-] You can’t say you’re the Warriors, like culture and all that you’ve been touting for all those years, and take Moody out of this game. To me, that was the violation of Warriors basketball… he earned his minutes, he was playing hard… don’t pull a dude in the middle of a heater

  1. Yeah I noticed he was the only one making 3’s and then they pulled him out. I was like WTF? he’s the only one on the floor right now putting it through the hoop!

From the recent Warriors Plus Minus, with the usual crew of Marcus Thompson, Tim Kawkami, and Anthony Slater.

[Apple Podcasts link](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/warriors-plus-minus-a-show-about-the-golden-state-warriors/id1147910296?i=1000636963942), can likely find it on Spotify or The Athletic or wherever else too.

MT also talked about how the Warriors need to stop thinking they can just snap out of it and summon the Warriors of old. They need to adjust their game and come to grips with being older/less athletic than their competition. How, during the recent ‘22 chip, Klay actually cut out some of those dumb/crazy shots he used to make at his peak and Kerr sat Dray during stretches of the 4th. Why are they suddenly reverting away and shunning change? May be time to stop holding out hope they’ll turn back time and instead look for other ways to win (…maybe giving the young guns some run).

Slater brought up how Kerr was signaling a bunch pre-game how this was going to be a vet game, which may be why he leaned CoJo over Podz once CP3 went out, and why Moody barely saw the court before the injuries. Thought Steve may have wanted to prove this is the core and this is how they’ll win another chip. They opened incredibly well, and maybe Kerr thought they could clutch it out and close. A “this is who we are” type statement… which unfortunately didn’t materialize, and if anything, backfired spectacularly.

Kawakami also mentioned how much they’ve relied on CP3 to open the year, and that this game kinda showed him it was even more extreme than he thought. Also questioned how much longer you can roll out a no-offense tandem of Dray/Loon, cause even if Dray is scoring, opposing defenses would likely welcome those shots. Then touch on how this season feels like it’s trending towards more minutes and opportunities for the younger players (something like ‘how much longer can you afford not to play them?’)

Moody was locked in like MVP Steph, but if you didn’t expect his luck to run out at the craps table, you don’t know the Warriors.

We have seen this movie before. Hot hand wears off and now he won’t move the ball back to Steph in the last minutes because he thinks one more shot and he can get the magic back, then he ends up sinking their momentum with hero ball.

Maybe not but Moody was already taking risky shots. Sitting his ass down felt like saving him from turning into Klay.

  4. Kerr needs to remember what started this dynastic run in the first place

I’m not going to listen to MT after he’s watched like two games this season.

It was tragic. Many items are a matter of opinion with Kerr and rotations etc… historically he pressed the right buttons.

Moody being pulled when he was BLAZING HOT 🔥 was a moment to me that the team needs to sit down together coaches players everybody and say… are we about winning. Cuz Klay ain’t talking like he’s about winning… he’shaving imaginary conversations with Steve Kerr in front of a podium about being benched like itd be disrespectful. Dray is about that drama just enough to make it matter in the box score of a ONE POINT GAME.

Kerr just refuses to let go of the five guys who brought him to the dance time and time again. It’s time. Moody and Podz probably do no worse but likely do better than more Klay. Looney or Klay should’ve come out and Moody should’ve been given the ball every possession Steph got blitzed. It was a moment fans had waited for

Steve failed that moment… I hope he gives Moody 24 real minutes a night and stops pretending Klay is winning all these regular season games that get us seeding lol. Things have changed in the NBA. We just stayed the same and got older. 36. 34. 34. 38. Those are the ages of 4 of our 6 most utilized players.

I’m cool with Klay and Dray being Dubs forever.

I’m just not sure they are about winning the way it takes to win IN TODAY’S NBA… at the age and stage in the career they are at.

    #Go Dubs!

Compare that to the Kings who left Vezenkov in, who finished with +17. Like what are we doing here

Kerr fucking sucks. Motherfucker lost his mind.

biggest problem with age sometimes doesn’t come with wisdom or experience, it comes with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The Warriors’ culture went down the drain when Draymond punched Poole and they just sent him home for the weekend.

Kerr’s rationale was we needed Wigs to defend Fox. Agreed. What did didn’t need was Klay over Moody. Bringing Wigs in wasn’t the problem, it was pulling Moody rather than Klay.

  12. This was one of the few times MT was actually heated and I’m here for it. Last night’s game was so disappointing and Kerr and his vets deserve all the criticism. It sucks right now but at least it’s still really early in the season and they can still course correct.

  13. I think Moody should have been left in.

But there is nothing specifically *Warriors* basketball about that. At all! It’s a very general approach to basketball. If anything it’s more old-school to ride a hot hand.

This is Kerr’s 10th season as coach, his stretch includes all our winning, and if anything he’s known for being inflexible. Sticking to the gameplan. Not making adjustments hastily. So how is *that* not the culture? It’s all we’ve done for a decade!

Let me guess, any win is Warriors culture and any loss is anti-Warriors. Amazing analysis.

  14. Im dying to see all the young players succeed. That shit hurt a bit ngl
