What are you guys thoughts on this?

Also the Sixers have a far better plus minus when Tobias is off the floor basically every single season in the playoffs too, regardless of if Embiid is on the floor or not.

Maxey & Tobias lineups have a 118 defensive rating this season which is bad. It’s 111 when its one of them on the floor and the Sixers have a 97 defensive rating when neither of them are on the floor, to add context to when he mentioned the Maxey & Tobias lineups defensively. Maxey does improve their offense though statistically unlike Tobias…

Same shit, different year. His biggest asset is his large expiring contract in a trade.

  2. IndigoJacob

He has never been a good enough shooter, defender, rebounder, or athlete to play at either forward position in a lineup with Joel. Especially not in the playoffs.

Hopefully Morey is planning to move him for LaVine or Siakam, who are both far more talented and arguably better fits.

Tobias gave us 2 points on 1/7 in G6 vs the Celtics. That’s not a Doc problem.

  3. The idea of Tobias coming off the bench is great, but none of the coaches have pulled the trigger on it yet. He’s literally started every game as a Sixer.

Oubre coming back should help hopefully. At least another option besides Tobias.

Batum and Roco are average wings at best. Tobias was coasting the fact that we had no other options for wings the past few years. Very telling that Oubre can give you 80% of Tobias’ production on a minimum contract.

feel like he did this last season too.
started crazy efficient, than took a nose dive

  6. Obviously he wasnt gonna keep shooting 67% and like 50% from 3. Hes still a starter. tobi will finish with 40% from 3 and he is just as good of a defender as roco and batum at this point in their careers and his post up middy has been solid when we absolutely need a bucket

  7. tobias, morris, and picks for lavine and caruso. Lavine isn’t nearly as bad on defense as it’s made out to be. sixers could still carry 20m in cap space into the offseason. get this shit done.

Convince him to try for sixth man of the year. It seems like an honestly good fit aside from how much we’re paying him.

  9. Active-Beach-8897

Good info, does anyone know off the top of their head the offensive rating for all these situations

True or not, good luck with team chemistry. Not a tobias supporter, but nba guys talk about the relationships mattering

I see we’re on the “bench Toby” part of the Tobias Harris Experience Cycle^TM (thankfully done with the “apology notes” part of the cycle for now).

He is what he is but I’m so done with Toby. Let him play out the rest of his contract and then let me complain about his replacement in peace.

  12. mistergrape

I’ve noticed that when none of the Sixers are on the floor their defensive rating is 0; I can draw strong conclusions from this.

  13. jappixslackbot

i will never trust Tobias hot streaks. this tobi = good defense stuff is nonsense and always has been. I did like him attacking the basket in transition this year though, he’s a decent transition finisher. Problem is when that dries up for whatever reason he is just kind of out there floating around and waiting for his turn to ISO

  14. Bwoodndahood

It feels like Tobi is playing good to me but what do I know.. He was averaging like 22 ppg

  15. Carpenter_Worried

I don’t really need to hear anything from the guy who was adamant that Ben Simmons was still a generational player even after he melted down.

Regarding Tobias, I am so sick of the overreactions to every game. Tobias had a bad game, it happens guys. Like every fucking player on the team he will have days where he’s dog water. But there are dudes saying he can’t defend, shoot, or rebound which is just blatantly untrue. Is Tobias perfect? No he isn’t but he’s also just fine at what he does. Like it is so annoying for you guys to overreact so hard when he’s in a slump and when he’s on a heater. Like yeah dude he’s shooting 31% from 3 because we’re barely 20 games into the year and he hit a slump, shocking! His numbers with Embiid are fine which is all that matters ultimately. If you genuinely think that the team would improve if you started Cov over him you’re just braindead.

  16. kevinwhackistone

Tobias sucks on this team. Always has, always will. Get rid of him.

  17. GreenTheOlive

People give him way too much shit. You need to give people a bit of a leash, especially an established vet like him who has a big presence in the locker room. Team culture wise, it will make a lot of the team upset to bench him for a couple weeks of poor play when he was playing so well at the start of the season. Let them work things out on the court, our starting 5 will be fine once Oubre is back.

  18. FRED44444

Incoming all the idiots asking for the apology forn. He isn’t a very good player.

  19. AggressiveLender

Ben Detrick is mostly a cunt who thought Ben Simmons was better than Embiid and died on that hill

  20. PessimistSixersFan

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel it ain’t long until we’re done with him and his shitty contract

  21. pickledelbow

Decent when he’s good, but he’s inconsistent af. He was never a good fit here imo and he still isn’t
