Jokic vs Sengun Was A BALLET DANCE…

This is poetry in motion. Watching Nikola Jokic and Alperen Sengun play, it almost looks more like a ballet dance than a basketball game.
And their latest matchup last night was no exception.
Watch how gracious this looks before I break down for you what exactly happened on this play.
This is supposed to be a handoff to Jalen Green but both Green cuts inside and Sengun does this beautiful spin move.
Even if it’s for a split second, this is a 2 on 1 against Jokic who’s caught hesitating and cannot contest Alperen once he goes up.
That was a sneaky move, but Nikola did him one better.
He goes for what looks like a back screen outside but then catches everyone asleep with the cut inside, and the monster finish with the poster right in Sengun’s face. You gotta be ready young blood.
This was not on him but similar thing on the supposed handoff for Murray, Jokic sees all that space inside and dives to the paint and this floater over Alperen.
Sengun had to respond, so look at the soft touch on this 1 legged fadeaway.
In their previous 2 matchups Sengun hit Jokic with this quite a few times. The flamingo, as Rockets commentators call it as, almost a 1 to 1 copy of Dirk’s 1 legged shot.
And Nowitzki himself, who was on the mic the previous game, gave him some props for it.
Nikola of course is no stranger to this, so he shows Alperen his version of it- the Sombor shuffle.
Sure, the serbian is more skilled and more experienced, but stylistically- watching these 2 guys it looks like I’m seeing the same player play against his younger version of himself.
The similarity in body type might lead you to believe that Sengun moves the same as Jokic but Alperen is much quicker. Check out this blow by from a previous game.
Plus look at his pregame stretching routine. There is no way Nikola can do all this with his body. Not that he would ever even aspire to do it honestly.
But even as chunky as they are, both guys run like gazelles in transition opportunities.
Ok maybe not like gazelles but you know what I’m saying.
Every one of the 3 games they played against each other this season has been a joy to watch.
Funny thing is that even tho Jokic averages 29 points 13 rebounds and 9 assists per game for the season,
against Sengun he goes to a whole nother level of 35, 16 and a half and 11. I don’t know if there’s extra motivation by Jokic to show
who’s the master and who’s the student, or if it’s just the simple fact that yeah Alperen is the student and he’s not on Nikola’s level yet.
But Jokic has been incredibly supportive as Sengun himself actually mentioned on the podcast P show.
With Murray back in the lineup the Nuggets won this game but the young fella from Turkey has the lead 2-1 this season. Speaking of young fellas, the entire basketball world is turning on the teenage sensation Wemby. And I broke down exactly why so check it out. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

  1. Fenerbahce has beaten Real Madrid. After a 10-0 start to the season Fenerbahce Beko was the first team to beat Madrid in a dramatic final. Last 9 seconds, Real was leading by 2 and they had 2 free throws but Fener made the sensation perfect and won by 1, 100-99 !!

  2. This is nice that you show what is actually going on with the League, but White people don't call other "bloods". Stay strong. My cbrother" as you are white and not niggge

  3. Sengun was so ahead on his age compared to joker when he was young. It took joker 5 years to solidify himself as one of the best. Sengun only needs 2 years

  4. I like the Rockets core and the Rocket fans should be excited for what they have growing on the court right now. Give them another year or two and they will be a constant contender for the playoffs.
