What’s going on with Pascal? He is an average 3-point shooter. Outside of his rookie year, this has been the lowest he has shot the 3-badly.
Why can’t Scottie be aggressive all quarters, even when he is with the bench line (don’t give me that usage excuse)?
If both players can fix their glaring weaknesses before half of the season and Darko figures out the rotation. The Toronto Raptors will be a deadly team.
The Siakam + Barness + Bench Line-up was also good yesterday. Both guys can play off each other if they can both improve on their weaknesses. Siakam (shooting) & Barnes (Aggression) which they both have the capacity to do. Siakam can actually shoot the 3pt and Scottie can be aggressive.
Having two guys on the team who can attract the doubles will unlock this team’s potential when surrounded by the elite 3-point shooters (OG & Gary), and Yak inside the paint.

I feel like he doesn’t take the long 2pt jumpers as much either. Used to be pretty damn automatic on those
Hell if he got to the 2022-23 percentage from 3 it’d be huge. Don’t know what’s going on with his shot. Maybe he’s tried to change up some mechanic and it’s not working, maybe it’s just an awful slump
The initial drop was him taking more shots self created above the break, and less catch and shoot corners.
What’s happening now? Shit just ain’t going in. I hope that can be fixed.
A deadly play in contender. Which is still the worst place to be in the league
Before the pandemic, he was hitting pull-up 3’s from above the break. He looked like a superstar in that final game before the outbreak.
Time to move on, the future will be brighter 🙏

I love Pascal but I’m having a hard time calling him an average 3-point shooter.
He shot well in ’18-’19 (when 97.2% of his makes were assisted) and the first half of ’19-’20, but he’s been wildly inconsistent outside of that stretch. His playoff 3P% is even more rough to look at.
Obviously he’s struggling more than usual right now and I expect *some* correction, but 3pt shooting has never really been a reliable part of his game.

I want to say he hasn’t been the same physically since straining his groin back in 2019 before the bubble.
Never looked like he had the same lift or speed/agility since returning from that injury, but maybe it’s also a product of heavy minutes and straining his groin again early last year.
Either way his jumper just looks off these days. Dunno if there’s an easy fix either since right now it’s all arms and wrists, release all over the place with almost no knee flexion and lift. Compare it even his 2020 jumper and it looks flat and inconsistent.
He won’t though. He’s the 5th worst 3 point shooter in the league. Doesn’t exactly have a consistent jump shot either.
Agreed, and haha yaa, no Jordan Poole needed on this team, Scotties development should be priority
I think there’s a reason why Scottie worked on conditioning in the off season and I think he needs to continue to work on it

The issue with this team is “IF”
This team will be deadly if it had a better constructed roster with better players. There’s no Kawhi. There’s no chance. The fanbase really can’t put that together huh? Siakam could be shooting 50% from 3, it wouldn’t make this a contender.
Or maybe the front office can actually acquire shooters instead of forcing Pascal to do something he’s not very good at.
