Scottie has so much upside, he needs to do this more consistently throughout games. My fear is that he’s just long and super athletic and has an advantage the majority of the time but he makes some strange plays and takes some awful shots, like he did near the end of the 4th vs the suns. I’m still not a believer. In the finial 2 minutes Scottie had two ugly iso’s one of them an air ball and one terrible pass. If it wasn’t for Dennis’s layup at the end from Nurkic we probably choke this game up. I just don’t know if he’s Him!! Raptors management better make sure they are looking at the right things. He might just be a high level #2 like Pippin but the jury is still out on if he should be a centrepiece imo.
As Savannah notes, Scottie sees himself as a point guard, and he prefer to to the traditional point guard thing of passing the rock for three quarters before taking over. But he seems to be able to take the ball through the defence whenever he wants. He did it a few times last night, and I'm not even talking about the coast to coast dunk after Nurk fell down. Given this roster. Scottie should do that throughout the game to maximize PPP.
If Scottie had more teammates that could hit open 3s consistently he’d be averaging 9 assists
Spurs looked like a contender versus phoenix. They haven’t won since! Booker had his worst game of his career, he always gets hurt now.
