[GrantAfesth] Jason Kidd says he’ll take the blame for not effectively countering Kyrie Irving being face-guarded in the Mavs’ loss against the Grizzlies:

“He probably got a little frustrated with getting face-guarded, and we have to do a better job of getting him the ball and knowing how to play when something like that is happening.

“I’ll take the blame for that because we didn’t put him in a good position to be successful.”

HUH? wat da? i don’t remember him taking blame the previous 2 seasons

I’m surprised he didn’t blame the media.

Pretty encouraging to see Kidd take some responsibility for once. Championship confirmed!

First step towards fixing a problem is acknowledging that there is a problem.

    Kidd taking some accountability.

    You love to see it.

I’m just definitely on the fence with Kidd right now. He’s a great motivator for players and he knows how to win over the important ones like Giannis, Middleton, Kyrie and Brunson and I guess Luka. He can inspire players to play at a higher level like DJJ, Brunson wasn’t going off till Kidd got here and he credits Kidd for helping him improve.

He’s billed as a defensive coach specialist because honestly what else does he truly bring to the table as far as coaching wise? Our Defense hasn’t improved since he got here the first year we hired him, he’s the worst coach in the league in terms of X & Os since we don’t run plays. Kidd needs to prove himself this year

Reminder that we should’ve fired this guy back in February.

  6. Well I will say I don’t remember the last time Kidd took blame for anything

Maybe with new ownership coming on board he knows he doesn’t have it easy anymore

The Kidd apologia is out of control, we run no sets and play zero defense but he takes the blame ONE TIME in three seasons and we’re all like “that’s my coach”

Jason Kidd was great player, not a good coach. The main reason he is here is bc Luka likes him. Rick Carlisle is a championship coach, JKidd, not so much.
