Why Shannon Sharpe thinks Anthony Edwards & NBA stars couldn’t handle NFL’s physicality | Nightcap

Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson react to Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards’ claim that he could become the first NBA and NFL player in history. Unc and Ocho both agree that Ant and other NBA stars aren’t equipped to handle the physicality of the NFL. After, Ocho asks Unc what’s happening with Anthony Davis, and if it would be possible for the Lakers star center to ever acquire the killer instinct that made players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant great.

  1. The old nfl I would say no but this nfl I would say definitely y’all saying Zion wouldn’t dominate at TE or ja morant and Russell Westbrook wouldn’t go off lol Allen iverson was nice if Antonio gates can do it I definitely think a lot of players would do fine in the nfl

  2. Until football players play offense and defense while constantly running n bumping while getting saucy or make moves to shoot the ball in a small circle up to 150 a game back to back nights for 100 games a year if u lucky I don't want to hear it mma is more brutal but the conditioning in boxing is different just like basketball vs football. If a b ball player could just cuff the ball n hold it like a lil bih to score them we can say soft lol dribble the football n see how it goes lol

  3. ocho said AD need a nutritionist. That boy need Big Macs in his diet to bulk up and have stronger joints 😂

  4. Ant could definitely play in the nfl.. they arguing that he couldn’t take the physical stress.. my counter argument the nfl players can’t even handle it so what’s their point.. a healthy ant even if it’s just 1 game would dominate the nfl for that game

  5. "Everybody got a plan until they get hit in the face." Mike Tyson

Just cause you an athlete dont mean you can handle getting your bell rung. First time you get laid out with snot on your face and one of your eyes watering, then you know whether or not you can take it.

  6. i think football players instantly get offended when considering this but athletically gifted players like Ant for sure could play in the NFL. now obviously idk how long hed last but hes a .1% level athlete, ive seen much less talented recievers out there. guys like Russ, Ant, hell even a guy like Lu Dort have the physical makeup to be NFL players.

  7. A man wouldn’t want to play in the NFL if he never played football, bro talking about complaining for fouls …that’s a part of the nba game. There’s hella smaller players in the nfl than Ant. Not to mention if this was gonna happen, his workouts and diet would reflect a NFL players

  8. I think ant could but I understand what they’re saying someone like harden I couldn’t picture taking hits but someone like Westbrook that got that dog in him and that athleticism I could see being an elite running back or receiver if he tried to be one in another life
