The bottom line is ZACH GOTTA GO. I love his game, but unfortunately, he has to go somewhere with a better team n more structure. His style of play isn't conducive to winning with young guys bc he has losing habits. It's not even his fault. You can thank Minnesota and GARPAX for that. On a quality team that has actually WON, Zach will be the player we all hoped he could be for us. I don't like it, but it's the truth 🤷🏾♂️
Demar needs to stay. I think this roster with a quality return for trading Zach would allow us to make up some ground in the standings n be right there at the end of the season. These past two games are allowing us to see glimpses of our future core flourish. I think that potential being realized is more valuable than Zach at this point.
AKME is drafting young, athletic, two-way players with size. They need real-time minutes, though. Zach being out allows these guys the room to really flex their muscles and see what and how they can contribute.

The Knicks will not be trading for Demar DeRozan. He's 34. If you look at the Knicks roster, there's not 1 player in their rotation that's 30 or above. He doesn't fit their timeline. The Knicks front office are very unlikely candidates to trade anything for DeRozan. No offense to the player, who is undoubtedly very good. Fournier is also an expiring contract. While the Knicks would like to use his salary in a trade to upgrade at a position, removing his contract isn't a necessity.
Jan.15th trade Demar to Lakers for Rui Hachimura, Jackson Hayes, and Gabe Vincent.
If Lakers want to extend Demar to fit with their timeline for winning they can or allow him to walk in UFA in summer. Either way they will free up nearly 30 million in salary which I don’t think the 3 players going out were much in their future.
