How BAD is James Wiseman Actually?

James Wiseman should have been the missing piece to the Warriors dynasty v2, instead here we are today with Wiseman failing to crack the Pistons rotation. in just a three years span, what happened to James Wiseman?

  1. I think he needs time, a lot of it. He needed to develop in college over that first year but was screwed over big time. He will be fine and a serviceable big in a year or two.

  2. Hurrying to get in the nba was a bad move. Lacks xperience to hone his skills. With miniscule playing time he wont improve. He is just raw pure and simple

  3. he has played less than 82 games in 5 years going all the way back to college when he has no rhythm or feel to his game offensively or defensively. He he has lost his confidence playing for the warriors not the warriors fault when he becomes a free agent he needs to go to a place where he will play a full 82 games even if its only 20-25 minutes a game

  4. The Warriors are not good developing young talent. Wiseman is doing good in Detroit right now. He’s so young, I would’ve stuck with him and moved Draymond.

  5. this is exactly why you should pick a player with a higher ceiling than a player who would be a good "fit". warriors should have selected lamelo, at least he would have been an asset even if he doesn't fit.

  6. He needs to work out with top center legends as mentors. He will build his confidence and the basket ball IQ he never really learned.

  7. 2022 Steph Curry was legendary cos he led such a team with Wiseman and Jordan Poole to win the champ….lol

  8. I don’t understand why the warriors gave up on wiseman. They should’ve spent more time with him and turned him into the player they really need right now

  9. I dont necessarily agree that landing in Golden State was a boon for Wiseman – there are certainly a lot of things less than ideal landing in that situation. Particularly the team dynamics behind-the-scenes seems really complicated. Entering that team as a big means that Dray is your main mentor. This is someone who road coattails to his current position while the team was telling him they couldnt have done it without him – so you have to wade through thick ego and attitude to get into the picture. This is a struggle for alot of players, let alone rookies – Dray went at it with KD, what do you think he did to rookies?

The team is also structured around the shooters, and that's brilliant because they have 2 of the best shooters of all time on the roster. That's not as great from the perspective of a big entering a team as a rookie – you are going to be starved of touches and scrutinized if you take chances and try to get your game going. "Why is Wiseman shooting when we have the best shooter of all time on the floor?" was something common I'd hear from GSW fans watching games. They weren't wrong either. The Warriors played some of the best small ball in the league and when they put Wiseman in they didn't adjust style, they expected him to be able to fit into a circular hole as a square peg

The fit just wasn't there, even if you thought he could develop eventually – and of course no one would blame the organization or the guys with all the rings. It was really a hard spot to land and there wasn't a lot of upside other than being close proximity to Steph and Klay and potentially riding their performances to the post season

  10. He still has potential. Big men, classic center,.. take longer to develop. He has 15/10 upside. Solid nba career if he works. If not, he’ll still earn 100+ mil. I hope he ups his intensity and defensive effort. He can still contribute to a winner.

  11. You can just tell looking at him his attitude sucks. He has a ton of talent, but he just mentally checks out. I don't get the sense he loves the game.

  12. This is why he should’ve stayed an extra year in college. So eager to go to the nba when he wasn’t even kind of ready

  13. The biggest problem is that the Warriors are extremely overrated when it comes to scouting, drafting and developing players. The Dubs don't have a good track record just a handful of successes. Most players drafted by the warriors are out if the league after their rookie contracts

  14. Warriors have only developed three guys Draymond, Steph, and Klay its time we stop acting like this organization has just pumped out talent.

    1. Jordan Bell traded after two years

    2. Patrick McCaw traded after two years

    3. Jacob Evans traded after two years

    4. Jordan Poole traded after two years

    5. Nico Mannion opted to join the Euroleague

Moses Moody might be a solid player and Brandin Podziemski may also be a solid piece however outside of those two the warriors really haven't developed many guys it seems like two years is the limit.

  15. He’s not bad, he’s actually good but these coaches don’t know how to develop these tall centers. Look at monty williams with Deandre ayton and now with the pistons where wiseman is playing. He rather play marvin bagley and isiah stewart and put ivey on the bench who was the 5th pick of the draft last year.

They didn’f win a game in november 😭😭, these coachez are idiots.

  16. The weird part is i never felt he is very athletic. He missed tons of ally hoops that most nba big would hammer. He looks like he is more a skilled big than a young mcgee that the warriors needs
