Probably deserves it tbh. If we were .500, it may be a different story, but with our impending tank, it’s Chet’s to lose unless Wemby separates himself further with historic rookie stats. A crappy way to the start of Wemby’s career to be on a struggling team but it’s not everything.

The team’s struggles really pulled down Wemby’s chances in winning ROY.

Can this sub go one day without acting butthurt? He deserved it and would probably be ROY if the season ended today

It’s a coin flip honestly. Historically, the voters usually give rookie of the month and rookie of the year awards to the guy. Putting up the highest statistical impact, and Victor stats are pretty damn gaudy.
But at the end of the day Chet’s efficiency is elite and the difference in the team success is so immense
I would bet good money that if the Spurs were hovering below 500 would like seven or eight wins Victor probably wins this.
The team being so damn putrid makes it pretty hard for voters to justify giving him an award when there’s a guy. Also putting up really good, but not as good, counting stats on better efficiency on a borderline juggernaut
If the Spurs can stabilize to being just a normally bad team instead of historically bad, I still think this is Victor’s race to lose. As long as his efficiency numbers don’t get worse, and I personally think they will get better, I think in time voters will recognize the difference in situation, role, and what’s being asked of them. Them. Plus SGA being a legit MVP candidate might work against Chet in the end.

If those are the numbers they’re posting, what are Wembys?

Winning truly does matter, hard not to be a little salty but good for him, guy deserves it

I would rather wait till March to start predicting. When wemby is comfortable, he is aggressive and efficient. When he starts getting familiar with how opposing teams operate, things will turn around. I think his numbers will look a lot better the second half of the season then the first.

It’s going to be interesting as Wemby definitely finished off the month strong than Chet. A lot of it comes down to if Spurs can get some wins.

Wemby is gonna get the next month and the ROY, but Chet deserved this
TheSatanist666
He is a better offensive player than Wemby right now due to being in a contending team and playing with an MVP candidate. But I believe Wemby has a way higher ceiling than Chet.
This is well deserved but if I get to choose between Chet and Wemby as a franchise player, I would go for the latter.

He deserves it this month. But Wemby will be on the rise.
