[Bondy] So if the Knicks lose tomorrow, they’ll get extra games this season at Milwaukee and at Boston. 10 games total against those teams this season. Meanwhile Nets won as many games in group play, lost point differential, and get the Hawks and Wizards this week. Doesn’t seem fair.

I mean to even get to this position you have to win games. Would it be better if we just lost to the Wizards, Hornets and Heat to miss the tournament?

  2. we have a chance to proactively move up the standings. i take this as an opportunity to do that. theres a world where we win and its the best thing ever or we can lose and just complain about how its unfair.

  3. Mr_Jersey

Bondy wants this to be a thing to be upset about so bad.

  4. How do people even have the mindspace to complain about this? The season isn’t some precise scientific experiment to determine the best basketball team. It’s meant to be fun way to be entertained for a few months that culminates in the playoffs/championship spectacle. Who cares about minor unfairness in the name of big fun. East/West/divisions are imbalanced all the time. Not fair! Maybe this makes us more ready to play Bos/Mil in the playoffs?

Who gives a crap? We’re going to make the playoffs, if we’re good enough to win there none of this will matter

  6. Some_Cringey_Random

adam silver has made it harder for teams to miss the playoffs, we will be fine no matter who we face

I get what he’s trying to say, but as long as we still make the playoffs hopefully in a good seed this won’t matter. If we miss home court or somehow this ends up bad for us then I guess he’ll have a point.

The reason we’re in the position is because we won games. It’s not like the nets are gonna get out of the first round anyway

If we’re actually a good team then it shouldn’t matter.

Time to prove it against the league’s best.

  9. QUINNFLORE

anyone complaining about this is objectively soft and incorrect

  10. Wild_Particular4003

Focus on beating Milwaukee and the issue doesn’t exist

  11. He’s right not really fair for those teams about to get their ass kicked

This is a losers mindset and I will not stand for it

  13. Bondy read that Affectionate Tea post and thought that was heat lol

  14. hugekitten

Well the Nets are also terrible this year so it pretty much balances out IMO.

  15. the heat were the 8th seed, we had home court and we still lose to them. gotta play good basketball and build team chemistry

First, I ain’t afraid of some tough games and I doubt the Knicks are either.

But if the league wanted to address this, they could adopt a point system for the whole season where wins count as 3 points and IST wins count as 5. Then you’d be getting a bonus instead of being penalized.

  17. We get more chances to figure out a team that we need to go through to reach The Finals. This is experience that this team really needs.

Yeah this something that needs to be addressed in the off-season. I’m enjoying the in season tournament, for the first year.. it’s going really well. A couple tweaks needed, like the scheduling issue captioned. The courts will certainly be changed, and I expect tournament jerseys. It’s been fun and it really came down to point differentials, which made regular season blowouts or lack there of very interesting. I hope the Knicks advance! It’s single game elimination, and I am very optimistic. A seven game series against the bucks is one thing, but a single game is a different story. Tomorrow night.

The Knicks are a good team. They shouldn’t shy away from playing the other good teams who they’re trying to knock down in the standings.
