Orlando Magic win 8th straight and are just having fun now | The standard is the standard

OK, the Orlando Magic are just having some fun now. The team had a celebratory and fun evening winning their eighth straight game as they defeated the Washington Wizards 139-120. The team continues to form its identity and set its standards. The team is starting to be a lot more than we thought. And that is where the cracks are beginning to show. The team has to elevate its expectations and its focus. They are no longer playing their opponents but playing their standard and preparing for the Playoffs.

  1. Good morning Phil, how much longer before EVERYONE takes this team seriously? I know it’s still early in the season but this team keeps answering the questions

  2. My issue is actually with offense; and more specifically converting turnovers into baskets. They need to move the ball side to side more and run more plays on breakaways instead going into frantic scrambles. They waste a lot of opportunities created by good defense when taking a half sec to gather, set, and run a play would create a lot of points on turnovers. They’re getting smoother there though and I love how they’re driving the paint more to get high percentage shots and get floor spacing for shooters.

  3. We’re fine. We’ve been on a run of playing very good teams and Charlotte and Wash are trap games which we won going away, even without playing our best ball and only defending for stretches. You can’t really expect any team to maintain the level of intensity they’ve needed to win against teams like Den and Boston, not to mention the road wins. There’s nothing to be concerned about especially considering we’re learning these lessons without losing games

  4. I found myself being frustrated we didn’t get up big early vs Charlotte and Wash but I realized it’s because this is all new to us. We actually don’t have to play perfectly to win. It’s hard to wrap your head around (and you definitely don’t want the team thinking this) the idea that we’re legitimately good. It’s just brand new and we don’t even know how to handle it. It’s real guys. We’re legit

  5. Yeah if we want to really be called a playoff team, need to play better against teams like the Wiz. JI minutes were missed. Good Caleb minutes though

  6. We are not frustrated, you are Philip lol😂. I hear you tho. Chalk this up to defense is tiring man… i play recreational and pride myself on playing no foul defense…. Its tiring. Our team knew they were coasting a little bit and im cool with that, because to play lock down defense day in and day out is no small task, the best teams do this, we are still growing. Even Suggs says getting hyped and super energetic is tiring. They gotta find pockets of when to rest etc. plus JI hasn’t played the past 2 games, and he locks down almost everything. We in a good spot. Paolo gonna bounce back if he clears for fridays game. I’m not worried. Playing this lock tight defense is tough, they will find their spots in the season to go hard and get up for those betters teams and find spots to conserve energy and be more efficient

  7. Yes def some cracks and kinks we need to work out let’s not get to high FOCUS ON THE WORK and the fun is coming!

  8. Now that Paolo fixed the hitch in his shot, he needs to fix his touch around the rim. It looks like he just chucks it up towards the hoop instead of finesse touch like Bol or Cole or Franz.

  9. It’s still incomprehensible how good we are right now; I want the streak to continue to get to 10 straight.

Additionally it will be interesting to see how the team handles losing and responding to future losses with resiliency.

Cheers to our fans and our young developing team. Great start to year three.
