Seriously, the spurs really drop the ball this season. They have no vets on team that can teach these young players to win.
VW is killing the Spurs when they are on a hot streak with his horrible shot selection. Stop shooting 3 pointers on a fast break Wemby!
KJ led this team to 22 wins last season will less good teammates. Pop should give the keys back to him until Wemby is ready.
This guest, Taylor hit it. Spurs FO overrated this roster. Boom. Wright and Co. can crow all about “development” but even they can’t say w/a straight face it would be this bad. Keldon Johnson—an empty stats guy. Another 🎤 drop. Spurs record almost single-handily killed the Wemby buzz — a generational prospect. Think about that…
Tank for what, Jeff?! They already have two first round picks in weak draft. Is tanking worth costing Wemby the ROY?! Because if they keep up like this, that’s exactly what is going to happen.
All the players that are available for trade now likely won’t be available in the offseason. Example—a guy like OG Annouby gets traded, he’s like made sure it’s already to a team he’d likely resign to. So even if he is a FA the Spurs won’t be able to even make a move for him—as just one example. They need to be active at the deadline!
I appreciate this channel as other Spurs spaces want to try and shame us fans who are angry/disappointed with this season.
Let’s not gloat about being Detroit which essentially our mirror image — Spurs have a grand total of ONE more win than they do. ONE!
And let’s check the similarities:
1) Mismatched roster w/no consistent outside shooting & a serious lack of vets. ✅
2) An overpaid veteran coach (Williams #2 behind Pop) who doesn’t look like he wants to be there and is mismatched w/a young roster w/no championship aspirations ✅
3) A generational talent in Cade Cunningham who the entire Detroit media & fanbase is crying out for the team to get him spacing and help like we do about Wemby ✅
4) Weird backcourt lineups (Jaden Ivey off the bench, starting Killian Hayes) that let the losses pileup ✅
5) A tone deaf GM in Troy Weaver who has his roster littered with reclamation projects (Wiseman/Bagley) ala Brian Wright (Collins/Bassey). Wait, didn’t Wright come from Detroit…?!? ✅
6) A top flight rookie who can stuff the stat sheet in Ausar Thompson but is struggling mightily from 3? Sounds a bit like Wemby—though not nearly as bad but still sub-basement below 30%. ✅
I could go on & on… Spursdom is in no position to gloat over the Pistons woes, we need to EMPATHIZE w/their pain, because it’s our predicament too.
