Tyrese Haliburton asked ab the post-trade flight: “It was me, Buddy, and Tristan. We got traded together. I was distraught, still in shock, pissed. While I was basically scrolling my phone with my head down, I had to listen to Buddy and Tristan tell me how bad the Kings messed up the whole time.”

The Kings are fortunate that they got good or else they would have been Kangz’d by the media and the nephews on reddit until their franchise folded.

if i was a hype man like kendrick perkins id come in hot with something like would you rather have haliburton or fox & sabonis

The trade turned out to be a win-win situation for both teams. Sacramento needed an All-Star big man and Pacers needed an electric guard. Both teams are competing for a playoff spot right now, which certainly wasn’t the case before the trade. In my opinion, Haliburton wouldn’t be who he is today if he was still be in Sacramento, because it’s too hard to share everything for two ball dominant guards (Him and Fox).

Sometimes franchises heavily overvalue their young players, and later regret not trading them when their value was highest.

This was not one of those times

i remember niang said hali texted him and asked if he were coming to philly on that trade deadline. the double tyrese backcourt could’ve been something man.

  6. A lot of people will say that Fox’s value was at an all-time low, they wouldn’t have gotten a Sabonis with Fox as a centerpiece, etc. And I agree. But if I was a Kings fan I couldn’t help but wonder if Haliburton’s the type of talent who you build around at all costs.

Win win lol. Whatever helps you sleep. Cope the beam

  8. Gonna focus on the main message of the clip, which is Buddy Hield, who is honestly my favorite Pacer right now even with Tyrese and Myles here. I’m a sucker for shooters with a nice jump shot and when he’s hot, he’s hot. Love the whole team though.

In terms of pure talent, Pacers won the trade. From an asset management view, it was a win-win.

Fox and Burt are both pure point guards. Fox was not seen as a positive asset at the time. We’d probably get salary filler and 1-2 late firsts for Fox. So is Fox + Sabonis better than Hali + fringe prospects? I’d say yes.

It’s like everyone wants us to be upset about the trade when we just… aren’t?

Every Tyrese clip I see I get closer and closer to crying. He’s that special.

Bros gonna be talking about this trade until he retires

  13. Rybackmonster

Tristan as in Tristan Thompson? He was in that trade?

The kings are doing just fine and were a feel good story last year, I’m sure they’re feeling ok without haliburton

It’s still a win/win. Both Fox and Halliburton took leaps post trade, which wouldn’t have happened sharing the backcourt, and Sabonis has been a perfect fit for Sac where he wasn’t in Indiana.

  16. Bro can we please move on from our ex’s. Damn, EVERYONE is in a better place

This is my opinion as a kings fan who has never been more upset about a trade in any sport than the Hali trade.

The kings post-Cousins have been fucking HORRIBLE at finding a decent big man. Yes losing Hali sucked. But our roster is more complete as a result. When we made the playoffs, I promise you not one person was thinking “Man I wish Halliburton was on the court over Sabonis”.

I really don’t care if we’re a perennial 1st-2nd round exit and never win a championship. I’m sure Hali will lead the pacers to some exciting playoff runs, but it’s not like he’s a guaranteed ring. As a matter of fact, there’s a good chance he never wins one.

The discussion around this trade is so old and opinions on it will change as time goes on. Both sides won. I’m happy, Kings fans are happy, Pacers fans are happy. Cool, end of discussion, let’s move on.

Light the beam, go Pacers as well. I’ll always root for Hali because he seems like a good guy and gave it 100% every game he played for the Kings.

These stupid ass tired questions…grow up Tyrese and just say “next question”. The media narrative asking/pushing this shit is plain Idiocracy stupid, low bearing fruit kinda shit. Saying this with a damn shit eating grin…

It’s been what, 2 years? How about we move forward and not beat the past into a bloody pulp and then defecate on it.

Jesus, shit like this makes me not want to pull for Tyrese and the Pacers…but Buddy? Screw him straight to the Bahamas…Tristan Thompson?? Sigh…I’m not salty at all…can you tell??

And straight to downvote I’ll go haha

  19. Dude, reporters love bringing this up always . It’s a good trade for both teams and leave the fuck up at that . I like Hali but kings are doing fine too . Wish the best of luck for both teams and about Buddy ,he never liked kings

Suns fucked up big time by not drafting Tyrese

  22. KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ

and god damn, did the kings fuck their bag up

“I was distraught, they made me live in Indiana”

  24. saintsix66

Glad that it all came out this way. The Sabonis Hali trade is one of the best things that ever happened to lovers of the spectacular game.

  25. I don’t understand why the media tries so hard to use the Kings as a punching bag when we’ve clearly benefited from this trade as well. We’re all happy we did the trade and would easily do it again
