Talking heads are for sure going with LeBron v Jordan tomorrow now

AD was a beast in the Finals and their defensive anchor, but this Lakers team still lives and dies by LeBron James

And he’s only in his late 30s, which makes him the youngest MVP in NBA Cup history.

Is MVP for the whole tournament or just the championship game?
cHinzoo
I mean, this one is for the entire tournament right, not just the finals? LeBron has been magnificent throughout the run.

Lebron’s answers during the interview have been great. He said what motivated him to play so hard throughout the tournament was: 1) To get his young guys playoff experience 2) To get his young guys some extra money 3) To keep lakers fans engaged and excited early in the season
OKC2023champs
Even though a lot of people will say the IST tourney is meaningless, lebron winning a competitive tournemant MVP at 39 while going 7-0 is incredibly fucking impressive

With tonight’s victory, LeBron is being hailed as THE GREATEST basketball player ever. He lead his team to the first NBA In-Season Championship!

How many IST MVPs does Jordan have? LeBron just cemented his GOAT status
He can assure himself of a trip to the hof now, no need to pad anymore stats and keep the faking like they can contend for a real championship outside of Mickey Mouse land

I think more than just his play, LeBron is the MVP of the tournament by taking it as seriously as he did. I think that drove a lot of the teams and top players to also make it a big deal and in the end, the fact teams played this hard in November/December is the real success of the IST.
And I think too, the guys at the end of the roster who perhaps won’t make as much money in basketball getting an extra chunk of cash to set themselves up financially a bit was a way for him to give them something more with his play.

The inseason tournament needs a sharper and shorter name. Like the Silver Cup. Or Sterny Tourney.

This basically solidifies that they will eventually name that MVP award after him, right?
