  1. That’s a part that is a bit underrated if I dare.

Has any other rookie in the league (past or present) been so much present in front of the media, being the face of the franchise, specially when things don’t go so smoothly….

That’s a real question I’m asking, I don’t follow the NBA enough to have all examples in my head.

Outside injuries I have zero worries about Wemby. He’s already showing so much but more importantly he has a good head on his shoulders plus he has people like Pop and Timmy around to help guide him.

He has this rare thing for a teenager: he is emotionally stable. Doesn’t get high, over excited when it’s going well and doesn’t get low, pessimistic or bitter or discouraged when things are going bad. He just doesn’t. Give in to procrastination and understands it’s the time to be resilient.
Without being numb or cold. He does have real, spontaneous emotions that he is not afraid to show. He cried tears of joy during the draft, he laughs about things.
His communication, social skills are outstanding.
He is really that rare rare young man.

That is something most people who didn’t pay much attention didn’t understand before the draft:

    His intangibles.

Work ethic, unselfishness, maturity, humility, mindset, physical prep, team-oriented, loving the game, willingness to be coached and learn.

Already a professional.Being unphased by the hype.
Not spending too much time on social media.
Being raised by a loving family of basketball players/coaches and pro athletes.

All of that is hard to teach, and very rare to find in a 19-year-old, yet it is so valuable.

7’4, 8-foot wingspan, with a diverse skillset, is already a “one in a billion”.
But the intangibles are another difference maker.

When he was drafted he said he wanted to be the best at press conferences too so good on him for following through!
