At least Ainge keeps the same energy ๐Ÿ˜‚ but he is ๐Ÿฅœ๐ŸŒฐ๐Ÿฅœs

“My impression from talking to teams is that it’s something resembling the haul the Jazz received for (Donovan) Mitchell and (Rudy) Gobert: so, five-ish firsts and/or players of comparable value,” O’Connor wrote. “… Utah might determine Markkanen looks best as part of its own future. But with so many teams likely having interest and having the assets to make intriguing offers, we know that Jazz are at least willing to listen.”

Just wanna see how many people here still want Lauri and how much better heโ€™d make the Knicks completely gutted roster hahaha.

  2. Crazylockdown

We can use his scoring and shooting for sure, however can he be a fit defensively next to Randle? We already struggle on defense and replacing one of RJ/Grimes who are our better defenders with him will make things even worse.

If somehow Thibs can fit him in the defensive scheme, I think heโ€™s worth RJ, IQ and a list of picks. Heโ€™s elite on offense and only 26

  3. hes only good because hes the man of the team. hes not at the level of impact rudy is and mitchell.

okc giving giddey and 2 picks is the max theyll get

  4. JonnyGBuckets

If they think he can defend 3s this is not an exorbitant price. IQ is probably worth 2 firsts. They have the two protected firsts.

Is IQ, Fournier, 2 protected plus 2024 Knicks unprotected for Lauri and Olynyk insane?

    Iโ€™d probably do that.

  5. Man that Gobert fleece was one for the records, how tf can you recreate that?

  6. Struggle2Real

It’ll be interesting to see what they get for him. His contract is really nice value for the next 1.75 years, and with his age I can kinda see where Ainge would want to broadcast that this is the expected return.

I’d be surprised if he gets that, but OKC does have the warchest.

  7. Accomplished_Power_3

Lauri is pretty good, actually. Don’t hate on him as a player, lol. The knicks better not blow up the team for any trade!!!!! I’d rather make smaller trades and what not.

  8. KingJoe7-123

OKC probably gives up Giddey and 3-4 picks and gets that deal done by the deadline. It is what it is

  9. Nicholas-Kopis

You know what? I hate Ainge, but THIS is just badassery of the highest order.

  10. Cvnilivee

Honestly, OKC should jump on this ASAP. They donโ€™t have the players to give up but the pick package would be nice and they still have way more in the chamber. That being said.. fuck Danny Ainge forever.

  11. Immediatewhaffle

Idk about any of you but I hate big deadline/ mid season trades Of any kind.

A few have obviously worked out throughout history but itโ€™s usually an overpay and done by over aggressive, short sighted front offices.

You give up a haul and lose all the team chemistry youโ€™ve built all year. then you have to rebuild it with a new roster and all new roles mid-season with limited practice time.

Not worth it. Make moves in the offseason.

  12. Tradeandworkout

Do it. This Knicks team will be around 500 this year and be in the play-in. IQ, Fournier, 3 or 4 picks. Those picks are not going to help us anyway and we need to consolidate players. That kind of floor spacing changes the game. Now go find a center who can hit a hook shot or a 10 footer.

  13. ThisIsEduardo

I mean RJ + IQ + 3 picks would be a DM type package and we could afford it. Problem is do you trust Lauri at SF? Because he’d have the play the majority of his minutes there.

  14. pr1ncejeffie

And I would hire him … at least you know he will try to milk every single drop.

  15. Swift_42690

I love Lauriโ€™s game but heโ€™s not worth all that. To me, he is at best a 3rd options a championship team and we have that already in Randle. What we need is a true number 1 which obviously is very hard to come by. I think the Knicks should just try to get an impact player to backup Randle for this season and then explore the trade market landscape this offseason.

  16. pgtvgaming

Why stop at 5 firsts, why not ask for equity shares in the org hes trading with as part of the return? Itโ€™s only fair

  17. RichHomieLon

    IQ + Fournier + 2-3 picks for him + Olynyk/Collins.

    Who says no?

  18. Ornery_Alligators

Would you do Quickley/Grimes/Fournier/2 NYK firsts and one of the other firsts we have out there for Markannen and Sexton?

    Robinson/Hartenstein
    Randle/Markannen
    Markannen/Hart/RJ
    RJ/Divincenzo
    Brunson/Sexton

Would you do it if we swapped RJ for Grime/Fournier

  19. Chrisser6677

Money match for Evan Fournier & a det 2nd round pickโ€ฆ thats all we got.

  20. Silent-Frame1452

He was never realistically available short of a haul, not so long as he is willing to stay in Utah. Since it seems he is, I canโ€™t seem him getting moved. No one is offering the haul Ainge would want, and thereโ€™s no reason for Utah to move him for less.

  21. spaceninj

KOC has no sources. Also, the Mitchell and Gobert trades were not alike, so which one is it?

  22. Heโ€™s 7 feet but he can play the 3

    Iq/grimes/fournier/2 picks?

    Brunson
    Rj
    Lauri
    Randle
    Mitch

    Bench is
    Mcbride
    DDV
    JHart
    Ihart
You have Rj play more with the bench

  23. Fun_Internet_8609

This is #1 player I would love the Knicks to trade for.

Personally prefer him to Mitchell, Gobert, Randle, and OG.

    Especially for our team/championship teams.
