this improvement alone is why he’s getting any playing time. Every other facet of his game rn looks really bad, although his defense on PG13 was pretty good on Sat

Needs take more good balance jumpers from the same range.

Surprised Brunson isn’t up here.

Yeah it’s the biggest change for him honestly, even when he has bad shooting games like last night, he is guaranteed to cash in at the line when he does what he does best: getting to the rim and drawing contact.
Just gotta pray he can figure out that jumper, form is so inconsistent, he was looking different beginning of year to now, back then he was off to the side of his head a little more and the rhythm looked good. Now he’s got it more in the middle of his face and he’s aiming it with no rhythm.

He made a 180 on his FT% from the last two seasons. He was god awful, and yet he’s turned it all around so far.
But the fans will still eviscerate him because he’s doing it quietly, and no one actually looks at the numbers and facts, they just hammer home their shitty opinions lol
Edit: I’d also like to point out that there are a lot of mouths to feed in this team. RJ isn’t scoring a ton and has struggled to get in rhythm because he’s playing in a system where he’s getting less touches and his role has completely changed on the new-look Knicks. He’s playing an entirely different role than he was for his first couple seasons.

Trade him while he’s not missing FTs even a 2nd round pick will be welcomed.
