Not really a logical deal there with the Hawks if they’re trying to shed salary, right?

If Ricky and couple future 2nd rounders could bring in a rotational depth piece, that would be awesome.

Would be nice to get something for Rubio, even if itā€™s just 2nd round picks or back of rotation PF or SF

I don’t think the Cavs are interested in moving Mitchell because the market just isn’t very interesting. Altman is a guy who’s shown that he’s not afraid to make the big move if he thinks the price is right and it’s good for the team, so I think he would absolutely trade Mitchell if there was a great opportunity there for him. That said, I also think he’s learned from the Kyrie trade, and is going to be a lot more shrewd this time around. The trade prospects for Mitchell just aren’t good, so I think we keep him and see if we can make any noise in the postseason. I remain pretty concerned about the pairing of Mobley with Allen, and the pairing of Garland and Mitchell. Neither look amazing, and it’s definitely not great having awkward fits in both the front and back court at the same time lol. But there’s a lot of talent there and that’s a pretty good problem to have. Let’s see how things play out. The team has looked pretty good the last two games ā€“ hopefully Mitchell feels revitalized by the opportunity to carry the team for 20 or so games and actually performs well this postseason.

  4. You probably need a third team (spurs seems to fit with Doug McDermottā€™s expiring), but could Rubio, Levert and seconds get you Hunter or Bogdonovic?

You don’t necessarily have to do anything now but if he’s unwilling to sign an extension in the off-season then you start exploring trades and don’t even think twice about it.

Wouldn’t Mitchell be in the same situation in New York as he is here in regards to playing over a similar guard?
