The Chicago Bulls continue to play excellent basketball without Zach Lavine. Tonight they beat the Lakers convincingly. DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points with 9 assists. Patrick Williams made 3 three-pointers and scored 15. Coby White scored 17 with 3 more three-pointers and 7 rebounds.

Lebron James was one assist shy of a triple double and Austin Reaves played a great game as he scored 21.

The Bulls are 7-3 in their last 10 games and have a stretch of home games coming up. Kap’s Question of the Day is: do you think the Bulls are a playoff game if they do nothing else besides Zach Lavine? Leave your answers In the comments below.

  1. I honestly think we are a playoff team without Zach. Seeing this team performance night in and night out is soooooo much different then when Lavine is on the floor I love the energy and the fight from the guys haven't been this excited since 20102011

  2. They can make the playoffs, however they need to remain healthy and that’s always a concern. They’re showing that can win without Levine. Hopefully they can get a back up for Colby in return.

  3. With so many teams making the playoffs in the NBA, this team is playing well enough to make the playoffs. It shouldn't just be about making the playoffs, though. Can they make noise in the playoffs? With how they played against team's like Miami and the lakers, i would expect they would at least be a really tough out, if not ma

  4. I can see a play in team with a chance of a playoffs. I feel we may need to add some PF size help for the rebounding in case our center (vooch or Drummond) get stuck having to guard the perimeter. Plus Zach is a ball stopper too so I don't mind him being gone, especially when Coby white and Patrick Williams are playing like this

  5. Indeedy, they are a Playoff team. They will reach 6 seed in the east…Let go of egotistical players…Smiles J H.

  6. Yes this team is a playoff team even with bringing back salary fillers or draft picks from trading Zach! We've been showing that since Zach's injury. We're winning now and when we've lost it has still been competitive and most of those losses are to very good playoff teams. It's addition by subtraction! Players are stepping up, the ball is moving more now and the chemistry is better than I've seen it all season long! Let's go Bulls!

  7. Bulls ARE a Playoff Team! They are playing together and have Chemistry. In the past it seemed the Bulls were always "Try Hard" and had to play perfect to barely win, now they actually run offense and move the ball and they play team defense. Coby is maturing as an NBA player and P. Will is actually looking good. Bulls are actually whooping on teams sometimes easily. I really like this team, and they will be a playoff team!
    SEE RED!!!

  8. I would agree if we move Zach and get stronger role players who can play on both ends of the floor then this would remind me of that one Atlanta hawk team that had no true superstar but they were dangerous! Another rotational big and a few more shooters who can play both ends and we for sure have us a playoff roster!

  9. Yes I believe that they are a playoff team even if they only move him because when you think about how they've been playing yes it hasn't been the most prettiest of wins but even in the losses that we have had we've kept those games close and then you can't say that it's with a lack of effort.

  10. Chicago is about excitement. ‘85 Bears, ‘16 Cubs, Blackhawk’s and the Jordan Era with the Bulls. Zach doesn’t fit on that Mount Rushmore.

    Bu Bye!!!!

  11. Absolutely, the Bulls can sneak into the dance. Enough evidence now that Zach detracts from the current roster. These guys can play!

  12. Definitely a playoff team, more ball movement and defense being played as a unit. It also seem like Donavan can run his offense better without Zach

  13. Yes,yes they are Kap,and here’s why.

Last year we saw this team win a few games in a row from time to time and think “hey they’re finally connecting turning the page, here we come 5th maybe 6th seed, then we would loose and handful of games in a row by a wide margin. (Happened quite often)

This year, well atleast these last 10 games on this stretch (without lavine) the Bulls in my opinion are playing their best ball I’ve seen since we lost Lonzo.
I can’t remember the last time watching the Bulls down a 10 game stretch where they’re clicking on all cylinders rite now especially against (great opponents)

They’re competing, executing on offense defense and most importantly communicating with one another and they’re having FUN!

The future is bright with this young talent we have on this team!
    ~#takethat

  14. Zach's absence has enabled oxygen to flow through the Bulls offense, allowing everyone to breathe, move the ball, play for each other and provide opportunities for players who were stifled by limited roles. Question now is what happens when Zach comes back (before he's traded)? Will he get in the flow the team has established or suck the air out of the team with the game we've been accustomed to see him play?

  15. A Pizza and TV awesome cap were here to win as all CHICAGO teams we'll be in da future merry to you and family ok 🎉 CHIGAGO TEAMS ARE RISING UP tv or pizza I'll buy either or im im showing my daughter CHI-TOWN teams

  16. I think we just need 1 player for Zach and draft picks , someone big and that can play defense, Zach will either have to adapt if we can’t find a market for him or we force him out just for draft picks , but we are a playoff team with everyone playing with this type of heart . Tv pleaseeee

  17. The way players are playing together with a chip on their shoulders. Longest without Lavine the Bulls have a shot to shock the world.

  18. Bulls can be a playoff team in the weak east at the bottom part of 6-8th seed, everybody is playing better since Lavine got hurt, bulls gotta trade that guy but hey ever since he’s been out Coby white and Patrick Williams play better so I appreciate that

  19. The team as it is now can be a playoff team. The bad start did not help them. They need to get above .500 first and then they will be taken even more seriously. They are no longer the team that other teams look at them as a win to get. Bulls are becoming a team to be taken serious when playing against. We are beating teams that are championship ready. Great improvement for Coby and Patrick with Lavine out. Those two players are getting more looks because of that. Actual improvement being seen.

  20. Hell yeah move Zach for picks trade Demarr 4 young up an coming player but if not l love DeMarr attitude .I love Drumin over Voohie. They way young guys playing 4 Billy I want young Rebuild now u see they all BALLIN 4 Billy.Get Zion while value low with Patrick Williams by using picks from Zach trade Young Stud team take that Billy Ball bask6 style

  21. Kap: Brian Dale here. Yes, the Bulls are definitely a playoff team without Lavine. You now get to see the true talent of the other guys because they're not just standing around and watching Zach Lavine try to beat opponents with 1 on 1 moves. Also, Billy Donovan is a good coach…and now he actually gets to coach a group of players who want to listen. This is FINALLY a chance for the "Settlers" in the Bulls front office to act based what their eyes tell them and get Lavine out of town!

  22. Absolutely. They play free, are gritty, can make shots, and everyone has been contributing consistently lately. Tonight there were 8 players in double digits. Vucevic needs to continue to be active defensively and on the glass to be a competitive playoff team. I think they can surprise and upset some very good teams.

  23. They're definitely a playoff team especially playing in the east. We can CLEARLY see wo Zach everyone feels like they belong now (Team Ball) & it shows win or lose every game. ***And please find Drummond 5-10 more playing minutes we're Gonna Need this guy down the stretch 👀🔴

  24. Well, they woulda been a playoff team if they didn’t piss away the first 19 games of the season and just traded Zach this offseason. With Demar buying into this new style, this team has a chance to upset some teams in the play in.

  25. Bulls are a playoff team. Apart from the top 3 seeds Celtics, Bucks, 76ers, 4-10 are up for grabs. I do think Heat will turn it up and slide into 4th seed. So that leaves us with 5-10. Orlando has a good young core, but they don't have a veteran presense you need to sustain this success in the long run so I so think they'll be a play in team. Cavs have been pretty balanced with scoring and defense, I do think they slide into the 5th seed. The Bulls have a legit shot at becoming the 6th seed and avoiding the play in tournament. I do think they're better than the Knicks,  Pacers, Nets, Hawks, Raptors. The Knicks have had the same issues for years now with the lack of consistentcy in big moments. Pacers have been a good story with Tyrese Halliburton but they still need some pieces around him to make it work. You're starting to see them cool off a bit. Nets are still figuring it out after the KD/Kyrie/Harden departure and I think they've actually got a decent return in that trade for KD and a possible future star. I do think Hawks will look to improve at the deadline, but at best they are a play in team. Raptors will be sellers at the deadline. Here's what I think seeding could look like by the end of the season

    1) Celtics

    2) Bucks

    3) 76ers

    4) Heat

    5) Cavs

    6) Bulls

    7) Pacers

    8) Knicks

    9) Hawks

    10) Magic

  26. Idk gotta see wat we get for trading Zach. But they our 11th in the East so that is progress , But they whoop elite teams and whoop the inseason champions without hesitation kept the foot on their necks!!! But here’s a questions is Billy Donavan is better then Matt eberlose!!!!

  27. If they play like this for the rest of the season most likely they would make the playoffs and bum Lavine would still be in the sideline crying 😭
