Not a fan of Embiid but damn is he on a killing spree

  2. Putting aside the wy he does it, Embiid was terrific and he should be MVP so far. But, the season is long and bad streches/injuries etc. can happen.. Plus, Philly had unbelievable easy schedule so far, so we’ll see

  3. Good list tbh. Even though I’m a nuggets fan, I think Luka is the second best player this season. However, Dallas probably won’t get a high seed which means Luka probably will finish outside of the top 3.

  4. It’s understandable that Embiid is MVP, he’s amazing, but why Luka is so low?

Please lord give EmPlead the MVP…then we get to watch back to back seasons where he sets the record for worst playoff drop off by an MVP in league history.

When it’s all said and done, EmPlead will own the top worst playoff performances by an MVP in league history

I may be weird, but the only MVP I care about is Finals MVP. I liked that Jokic got recognition for his (deserved) MVPs and should have won last year. But the only time I really felt any euphoria was seeing the championship trophy and Finals MVP trophy.

I am totally cool with this top ten. They most definitely got the top 7 right, but the race is so close that the top 4 are kinda interchangeable. This is one of the most stacked MVP races ever

I love me some Jokić but Embiid is balling right now and I’d make a case for Luca to be just above Jok. For now. It’s only December.

Jok gonna finish the season averaging a triple dub and we gonna be first seed. The mvp award will be the winner of the the jok and embiid battle like last year kinda. I knew embiid was gonna win it when he dropped like 40 some on us last year. Jokic gotta have a big game on Philly this year 😤

Honestly, I’m surprised the gap between Jokic and those below him is as big as it is. His shooting is down across the board this year (2pt, 3pt, FT), and at a fairly significant clip.

But, he still leads the league in the analytical stuff (Win Shared, VORP). That’s probably because he’s played more games at this point, but still meaningful.

At the end of the day, I’m not gonna care about this award any more than the man himself, and Jokic seems to genuinely not GAF about MVP.

It’s a long season, it’ll be interesting to see how nurse deals with the inevitable embiid injury at some point this year. Last year Joel was empowered to just play through the wear and tear so he could get the mvp and it came back to bite them in the ass.

If embiid manages to actually play a full season (doubtful) with these numbers and the sixers get a top 3 seed, then fine give it to him. But I think we all know exactly how things are going to play out as the season goes along. Even if he keeps it up for the regular season, there is no chance Philly is going to make it through both the bucks and Celtics with embiid having to play 15+ games and carrying this kind of load, he’s simply not built for it, and it’s shown itself to be the case time and time again.

To be honest, I agree. Embid has been an absolute monster for a month straight, putting up those kinds of ‘first since’ games left and right that we are used to seeing the Joker put up. Jokic hasn’t been as good since his two bad shooting nights. I mean, he’s still spectacular, especially last night, but he’s cooled off a bit.

I hate this. Basically because I don’t want to even have to talk about Joel Embiid in the same breath as Jokic in 20 years. Anyone but Embiid, no back to back MVP seasons please
