There’s no way that Ant isn’t at least a little pissed at Jerami for that awful last shot.

I am tired of this Chauncey Billups ride, it needs to end ASAP, this is some garbage. This team is favourite to win against only a handful of teams this season, you’re at home coming off a hard fought win against the Suns and you’re playing a 4-22 horrible Wizards team who are also poorly coached and have the worst defense in the league so it’s a good opportunity to build up some positive momentum, but you struggle to score over 50 on them in one half, while you come in with this narrative as a good defensive team for young team that plays hard and they pour 65 on you at half time, some of the defense played in the first 3 quarters was absolute bullshit, the transition defense was horrible, the drop coverage allowed Kuz and Tyus to just feast and get some nice looks over and over.

I don’t wanna hear it anymore about this team playing good defense and whatever as a credit to Chauncey and a guarantee to his job security, he is not an anomaly as a young coach who gets young players to play hard, Mike Daignualt did it with Shai and some G-Leaguers when he started coaching the Thunder in 2020 and they were tanking hard and were actually still playing hard when they shut down Shai cus they were playing too well. Jamal Mosley constantly missing players with injuries starting last season 5-20 he was able to turn things around and his young team always plays hard and now they’re in playoff contention. Will Hardy is on pace to take a Jazz roster that’s imo worse than ours to finish above Portland for the second season in a row, they even blew us out at home while missing some key players.

Chauncey is in that Silas tier of “doesn’t belong in the NBA”, he has had some very good offensive talent to work with in 3 years and the offense is straight out of the stone age, it’s so hard to watch at times, this is not the direction the NBA is taking, if you don’t capitalize on your defensive improvements offensively then you’re not going anywhere

Beside the fact that you should not be waiting until the last shot to beat the Wizards at home, the last few possessions prior you allow Avdija then Kuzma to get the offensive rebound putbacks, that was terrible effort. I think Grant is playing well this season overall but he didn’t look like himself this game, he sold hard from the line and missed the free throw to tie the game while failing to box out Kuzma on the other end, that was hard to watch.

And about the last play, maybe Grant fucked up badly, however, I’m not a fan of throwing players under the bus, and I’m just wondering if you’re running the same play then you should account for the other team adjusting to it so you need an alternative, so what was the alternative here? It looked like Coulibaly was playing hard on Grant forcing him middle while Kuzma slew down Ant enough in the backcourt, so what was the alternative? Brogdon didn’t relocate for an open 3 and Ayton wasn’t close enough to the rim, so I guess Grant taking it to the rim was an alternative right?

Billups is the opposite of Dame in the clutch, impressive amount of lost close games in the clutch since he took over.
