Not only are those not gone, but in fact 5 games from now the Raps will have parallel record to last season, and anyone who puts more feathers in NN's for succeeeding with what he has in Phillies is delusional.
Darko is doing as much and by end of season will have done more here than NN there. They have likely hit their nadir.
Very interesting conversation as always. I listened to about the first 70 minutes. The scuttlebutt is that the returns for Pascal may be much lower than discussed. On the TSN broadcast, Amit Mann predicted that we would get cents on the dollar for Pascal (presumably because he is a short-term rental), but the Raptors will make the trade because the team needs to move forward with a different starting lineup. Do we dump Siakam for marginal rotation players, contract filler, and very modest draft choices (e.g., 2nd round or lottery protected)?
I dont mean to diss your dear friend but is that kings guy for real? Does he really think OG is better player than Pascal and Pascal not gonna get max? Raps need to keep both OG & Pascal not trade them for bench scraps plus late FRPs. I know if I had OG, Pascal and Barnes as my top 3 players I would not put a center next to them who can't shoot out side of 5 feet from the basket and I would have a pass first mentality point guard ala Mike Conley. Dennis needs to slow his role and become more of a facilitator. The Raptors traded a FRP and 2 SRPs picks for center that can't shoot and was going to be an UFA in the summer then were forced to re-sign him at 20 million per. I would like to see Jontay Porter in a lineup with Pascal, Scottie and OG.
