We Wrote a Team Official Wizards Anthem for the Fans and the City

TLDR: We got asked by the team to write a song to pair with the Boundary Stones City Edition Jerseys. It debuted on the 15th in Cap1 against the Pacers right before tipoff and will play every city edition jersey/court night for the remainder of the season.

Hey Wizards faithful,

Congrats on the HUGE W’s against the Pacers and the Blazers. The Pacers game was truly an awesome true team win and the Blazers was a WILD ride up til the end. For those of you who went to Cap One to see the Pacers game, you may have heard this song before they announced the Wizards starting lineup.

I manage a couple musical acts, and one of them, [Pelly](https://linktr.ee/pellymusic), has had some luck when paired with our friend and frequent collaborator, Italian DJ BEATSMASH, in regards to writing custom tracks for the NBA. It started a couple years ago after the Denver Nuggets licensed our song “Bodied” for their 2022 Playoff Run. We ended up creating a relationship with the team and then wrote a team specific song for their Western Conference and NBA Finals run which culminated in us attending Game 1.

One of their former employees took a job with the Wizards this year. They loved what we did in Denver and asked Pelly and BEATSMASH to come up with an anthem for your team and city centered around the Boundary Stones and City Edition jerseys.

Both Pelly and BEATSMASH are HUGE NBA fans, so they were stoked to start on another project for such an awesome fanbase. We had a meeting with the Wizards folks who brought us on for this, and what we took away from the meeting was that they wanted to honor the city, the franchise (being cognizant of where it’s at and where it’s heading), and hopefully energize both the team and it’s fanbase.

My guys worked tirelessly and came up with a track that we think you as a city, and a fanbase can rally around as your team builds for the future.

Having the team moving news break 3 days before the debut was rather unfortunate timing for a song filled with city specific references, but it was crafted with the city edition theme in mind.

After reading basically every post on here for the past few weeks, and all the articles I could find on the move, it seems like you’ll have your beloved Wizards in the District til at least 2028. That may be poor consolation, but we hope that we did your team, city, and fanbase justice with our track honoring you. We hope the song can become a rallying cry at your watch parties, in your arenas, and the city itself.

We’re planning to all come attend a game at Cap1 before the end of the season to see the track played in person and we hope to see you all there cheering the Wizards on to victory! We had to watch stream’s of the Pacers game, and WHAT a game to start with (the visuals attached to the song were incredible too!!!)

Anyway, Go Wizards. I wish you all the best of luck on your season. We’ll be watching as new fans!
