  1. I thoguht theyd be fine this season but not this good although I knew that Gobert would bounceback (at least statistically) although he wasn't even that bad last season

  2. You were wrong before and are about to be wrong again. Cal me crazy but this team is making finals this year. Hell, they might win it all. That’s how good they are frfr.

  3. They need to improve their offense, limit TOs and need better backup PG play. They dont have a lot of flexibility in terms of trades, but I wouldn't be surprised if they try to acquire someone like Tyus Jones. He would solve a lot of those issues.

  4. Wolves fan here. This is a very good analysis on the team and I do agree with most part about how far they can go this season. For me, it is Western Conference Finals or bust. The Finals is indeed a tall order, even though they did beat Nuggets, Celtics, and few other good and great teams so far this season. Yes, The Playoffs is a totally different beast and we seen what happened to them the last two seasons. I think those failures would be potent fuels that drive their further success in this Playoffs, so don't be surprised if they do make it to The Finals. The Celtics, 76ers, and Bucks would be the best opponents to stand against them from the East. Count on it.

  5. I agree the rudy trade was crazy, AND what many of you non mn fans don't realize is that no one wants to go to mn because the weather and culture is not as exciting as elsewhere for these young rich guys who want all their desires fulfilled. Not saying it's wise, that's just how these young men are

  6. Still dont understand how people think the Rudy Gobert trade especially now was that bad. Those picks are all gonna be in the 20's as long as Edwards is there. What are they really missing out on? D league players? If they need to obtain assets down the road, they have Mcdaniels, NAZ, and KAT as pieces to trade. I think people that call this 'the worst trade ever' are being a bit over dramatic.

  7. As a Minnesotan, and Twolves fan… you werent wrong about previous Wolves coaching, Gobert trade, KAT being soft minded, and that leading to ANT wanting out eventually. Three things changed that trajectory IMO. 1) Towns getting healthy and seemingly maturing after death of his mother from COVID 2) Gobert's Max effort on both D and O (no big in NBA repeatedly leaves the paint for multiple Pick & Rolls per possession than Rudy. Watch!) 3) Mike Conley running the offense. Extra 4) ANT evolving into superstar

  8. The difference is the wolves have an adult at point guard. Mike Conley encourages and teaches the younger players and gets them in the correct defensive positions. He takes what he gets and knows when to step up when the offense is struggling. The major issue last year was DLo, he was the one talking smack to Rudy all year behind the scenes which was causing team chemistry issues. DLo said he still thinks of himself as an alpha scorer so there was no room for Ant and other young players to improve.

  9. It's something SKOR North was talking about in KAT fighting in his role… since that Boston game where he was atrocious he's been playing the best basketball of his career. Accepted his role and is now firing.

  10. When it happened, the Gobert trade appeared to be the worst all-time trade.

However, as time has gone and we now see the Wolves leading the league in defense… the trade doesn’t seem nearly as bad (especially when you look at the players they traded away).

If the Wolves can make it as far as the conference finals (which would be ONLY the 2nd time in team history), then the trade looks even better for the Wolves.

And, (as a Wolves fan I can’t believe I’m saying this) if the Wolves happen to win a championship, then there’s no way you can’t say they won the trade.

Point being; jury is out and as time goes on, it’s starting to even out the tilt.

By the way, you mention they lost to the 76’ers the other night; it took 86 pts between Embid and Maxey AT HOME) to beat the Wolves! Thats going to happen maybe one game out of 7.

  11. oh no we gave up a bunch of picks and prospects that aren't doing much this year 🤷‍♂️ if we get a wcf it'll be worth it, no regrets. not even a ring is needed

  12. The other thing you didn’t touch on (unless I missed it) is; on teams Rudy was on before, he basically was the defense. Their perimeter defenders were usually pretty poor and didn’t put in a a lot of effort because they had Rudy behind them. The Wolves have a great defensive team; Rudy, Ant, McDaniels, NAH, Anderson, Conley… Rudy doesn’t have to carry the load anymore and other teams won’t be able to switch on him as easily.

    This team is legit. 😊

  13. The funniest part about all the worst trade of all time talk is that the gobert trade got was it’s not even the worst trade the Timberwolves have made lol. And now it’s the best of the all those star trades last year.
