Dejounte Murray?

>The Knicks are among several teams who’ve expressed exploratory trade interest in Hawks guard **Dejounte Murray**, league sources told HoopsHype.
>
>Murray can’t be traded until Jan. 9 after agreeing to a four-year, $120 million contract extension with the Hawks in July. However, given Atlanta’s sluggish start to the season as a fringe Play-In team following **Jalen Johnson’s** injury, nothing can be considered off the table for the Hawks in addition to usual trade suspects **De’Andre Hunter** and **Clint Capela**.

Depends on the price but Murray is a really good player and underrated. He’s now hitting 2.3 3s a game on strong percentages to add to really good defense, plus rebounding for a guard and 6 assists as a SG. I’d love to try to grab Capela too to sure up the C spot this year.

I would LOVE Murray. I just don’t know what a trade package looks like for him. I also wish he was taller… as always it depends on the package, but him as a player would be quite good on this team imo.

  2. Im not sure. Murray would move down in the shot chart behind Brunson and Randle. Is he gonna accept that? Rj would be 4th and his strengths is when he has the ball in his hand more. Unless we trade Rj separately for a 3 and D player idk how the Murry trade would fit.

We have guards. Is he better than all our guys, yeah he is. But how is he bringing us from where we are to a championship contender?!?

he’s not really a shooter, only makes sense if you’re swapping him for RJ and moving Grimes into SF. But does that really move the needle for us? and makes us smaller too.

Fuck outta here with this! Hawks traded for him and got worse. Spurs had him and didn’t want him.

Lateral move, we don’t need another guard we need size at the 3 and a center

  7. I’m not trading Quickley for him

If it’s RJ then maybe but that says more about RJ lol…

Imagine watching this team and thinking Dejounte is the solution to all our problems. Get us a big wing who can shoot for the love of god

  9. He’s a bum for what he did to those casual players at LA Fitneee

Murray has always sounded great on paper to me but I’m not sure why we’d go after him, especially after a failed experiment of him on another team next to a ball dominant PG.

Money match w ev and rj.
Bey, clint and dejonte. Jan 9th

His skill is obvious but isn’t he kind of a head case?

Hasn’t moved the needle in ATL, fills the position we least need, and will be expensive. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

  14. If we’re pay $25+ mil for a small guard who’ll be at best 3rd best player on the roster, we might as well give it to Quickley

Capella and Hunter mentioned as well.

    Capella is a nice big.

  16. I rather go after Hunter and Capela, even bogdonavic would be a good pick up.

We do NOT need more guards, let me REPEAT, we do not need another guard unless we getting Steph curry. What we need are big wings and a big man to backup Randle. Now that a Big Mitch is out, we can also use a serviceable backup for iHart as well. But please stop suggesting more guards like Donovan Mitchell and Dejounte Murray

Getting Murray would be a good move for so many reasons. He can consolidate 2 roster spots if you give up RJ and Grimes. He can defend like Grimes and gives you RJ offense numbers on slightly better efficiency. It would actually be a better fit than Donovan in that regard. He can also create off the dribble for himself and you can run pnr with him. Gives you an extra guy to go get a bucket late in games and in the playoffs. I’m so down for Murray. I wanted him last year but was way happier when I heard about Brunson. I wanted him since he was in Dallas

    Dejounte
    Brunson
    Mikal
    Randle
    Mitch.

Not realistic but man this would be a killer lineup.

Murray is a superior player compared to RJ & Grimes. Anyone who can’t see that is stupid.

Sure, RJ and two protected picks for Murray.
