  1. As a Cavs fan, I think now is the time to make a trade. We’re clearly not going to win with the current roster in the east. Garland and Mobley are hurt and are the future building blocks. Get max value and try and rebuild the roster again

  2. He will be a Knick! Almost the entire league knows he wants to return home, and that's in New York. He pretty much can dictate where he wants to go, because he can tell other teams he's not going to resign. I believe he said he had a home being built somewhere in New York and he planned on living there. He wants to be a New York Knick, and the cash will be forced to deal with the Knicks, and in essence the Knicks hold the advantage in regards to what they're going to give up. Especially knowing that he's not going to resign with the Cavs and he wants to be a New York knick, Why then would the Knicks want to give up a lot to get him? So it's not a matter of if, as it is a matter of when. And I believe when especially with these injuries is going to be before the trade deadline this year

  3. From a “star player” perspective, the Cavs have essential zero chance of getting another all-star level player via free agency or trade.

  4. Trade Mitchell to the Nets or the Warriors and Allen to the Mavs. Perhaps take on Simmons' salary, get picks. And set yourself up for a big trade in the future when Garland and Mobley become ready.

  5. I agree Garland and Mitchell are too redundant and are not productive. But the Mobley-Allen backcourt pairing clogs the lane as well. Can they contend with both those guys? They're relied on Mobley developing a spot-up 3 pt shot to spread the floor, but there's no sign of it happening.

  6. They should try to get a package of Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps.

  7. If the Cavs trade Mitchell, they're taking a step back after expending first round picks to get him. Is that wise? The best case scenario for them is to get Donovan to re-sign, see how they perform in the play-offs with the newly acquired wing players and wait for Mobley to develop his three ball to at least league average accuracy.

  8. I TOTALLY disagree with this take!! Garland and Spida are a small backcourt. But they check off every other box. FG and FT%, assists to TO ratio, stretching the floor with 3's, and steals, are all top notch. Cleveland needs help on the wing. OG Anunoby would be a really interesting fit. 🤔

  9. You guys are all insane. I’m a Cavs fan – watch every game and did so since Lebron. So I watched the games pre-Garland/Mitchell/Mobley/Allen. Donovan is legitimately exactly, exactly what we need. There is no better replacement for Mitchell in the NBA for the Cavs right now.

Donovan will resign. Mobley is about to become an Anthony Davis level player and Garland is one of the best point guards in the league. He wants to be here

  10. If they offer Mitchell now, I don't believe it will a bidding war, because he's not going to sign a long term contract anybody but the Knicks, it will be just a rental.

  11. Cav's better get what they can from the Knicks, because nobody else is going to offer more for a rental. I believe the Knicks can get him a little cheaper now. Everybody can see what happening with Cavs and Mitchell, he only wants to go to the knicks for a long term contract. He's not big enough to be a franchise savior. Who is going to give so much for a rental. The knicks is there best offer, so they should be calling the Knicks now and take their best offer. Don't give up all your assets, because you don't have too. Cavs know that you're the only team that will give the best deal.

  12. Mitchell saw the Kyrie and Durant experiment with the nets. He saw how they did Kyrie. He’s not going there he’s a Knicks fan. The only way he’s not with the Knicks is if the Knicks past on him.

  13. They should trade him to Brooklyn for some of those big wings. Half the good 3 and D guys in the league are in Brooklyn. They’ve gotta be ready to move some of them.

  14. Yes most def he’s not fit for this team when he came here he literally stopped the progression of the whole team we went from the number defenders 3 all star team to one all star team like make it make sense. Not broke don’t fix it they got rid of something that worked a 3 big man dominated offense/defense all they needed was a real two guard and another wing and they go get Donovan and trade lauri smfh just stupid since then defense been horrible and not a threat to anybody

  15. Trade wade okoro Mitchell for draft picks we have a team under the Cavs nose that isn’t playing in Merrill Mobley brother Craig porter and emoni bates we don’t need anyone else

  16. Just go ahead and say it, Dollar Bill, the Celtics need a couple of dogs.

Their guards are so good defensively, they make things really hard for other teams. They have all the skill players on the offensive end, making them very hard to match up with. So if they get a couple of dogs, they would be all-around nightmare to play against. You are right. Isaiah Stewart could fit the role and up the physicality.

But here is my question to you: how about PJ Tucker? I know he is old, but he wants out of LA and may still have something left. Could he come in during the playoffs and harass and even rough up a star player for 15 minutes a night ?I think it is possible.

If they got Stewart and Tucker, which I think they could, then Boston would be a nightmare to play against–massive defensive pressure on the ball making it hard to get into the offense, serious physicality in the paint and the ability to mix it up with the Giannis' of the world in a 7 game series, and a spacing and matchup nightmare for your defense.

Also, going the route of toughness and physicality would compensate a bit for Tatum and Brown being somewhat "soft"–at least mentally "soft" at times (Don't get mad).

I am not even a Boston fan, but I see the logic of going this way. Am I off base?
