Hawks vs. HEat Postgame Press Conference: Quin Snyder

In the third quarter and really just we raised our level and uh you know I think we got up 11 and then uh we got we went cold we had some great looks and uh thought we got to the rim a couple times and then obviously you know

Robinson and hero got some separation late and made some shots um but I thought you know the way we competed you know particularly in the second half to respond like that was a good thing yeah when a team is able to get us hot you talked about it pregame testing those

Shots how were you um I don’t know pleased or uh what did you think about the contests tonight on those they they weren’t where we needed them to be in the first half um and uh and then we got better as the game went on you know they’ve got

They’re a really good shooting team so um you know some of the the actions where you know we we have had you know they they weren’t breakdowns like but we weren’t as aggressive enough in a switch or you know and they executed you know give them credit you know if you give

Those guys any separation you know they have size and they rise up and shoot and um like I said making them you know more uncomfortable in the second half I thought we did that and you know whatever we did we did pretty well cuz we got an 11-point lead and then you

Know we we had a hard time answering offensively when when they were you know they came back obviously you know they’re going to come back and we you know bogey shot the heck out of it the first half and that’s sometimes that happens um you know he I thought early

He his he kept us in it a little bit when we weren’t defending as well as I think we need to and Coach what would you say is the team’s New Year resolution what needs to change for the I don’t have a New Year’s resolution

For our team you know I don’t I could what needs to change to to the winning column uh I’m not I I don’t I don’t really understand the question in that regard what I understand what you’re asking I just for example playing a great basketball the first half maybe we

Shot it well the first half yeah we need to be better defensively and better offensively we need to make more shots um you know there’s a lot of thing that the list is long I think that and it’d be long no matter what our record was

Cuz that’s the goal is to keep getting better so I guess that would answer your question the goal is exactly what the question was to keep getting better and there’s lots of ways to do that um we got to continue to identify them Define them and you know it comes down to

Execution all the time so we need to continue to execute better I thought it was we don’t have to wait till January 1 either I thought it was one of DJ’s best games consistently keeping his foot on the PED can you just talk about what he added and how we can

Continue to see that yeah I mean he he’s this is no like Watershed for any one player at a given time you know he he he attacked the rim I think he was really efficient I guess that’s how i’ answer it is I think he was efficient um

Offensively you know took took looks when he was open attacked the rim when he had opportunities and um you know I thought his defense um you know on the ball you know is something he can do and and we need and and he did that as well I just

Wanted to ask about Patty’s dive yeah loose ball just when you see veteran players do stuff like that sacrificing their body just how much can that be of an energy booster for the rest of the team well it’s big and I think even before that the team’s energy um but

That’s that’s a that’s a huge play those are winning plays and you know we had a few charges we had I mean that’s what you felt in that third quarter and throughout you know the second half that we just you know the challenge is to you

Know for any team any person is to just continue to do something more and more consistently and getting those 50/50 balls is huge I mean I think it you know you could see our whole bench was up and that that that’s you know anybody can do that and not everybody’s willing to do

That and Patty is gave our team a big lift okay okay

  1. We were missing Hunter more then you can imagine unfortunately he wasn't available but he always play well against the Heat. Needed that other body.
