The Minnesota Timberwolves have the best record in the NBA against teams .500 and above (15-4), have the best record in clutch games (9-1) and are the only team in the league to not lose 2 or more games in a row

Thus far whenever they’ve lost a game, they immediately bounce back. [0 losing streaks.](https://twitter.com/WolvesRadio/status/1735320460324204652?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1735320460324204652%7Ctwgr%5Ea01597a326c3c0db1a0aa2a9c321e43b001c25b8%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdunkingwithwolves.com%2Fposts%2Fimpressive-stat-proves-that-the-timberwolves-are-the-best-team-in-the-nba-01hhz89sh4jg)

[In clutch situations](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/clutch-advanced?dir=A&sort=TS_PCT), Wolves are a **top 5 defense** (102.6 defrtg) and **top 3 offense** (127.3 offrtg) with a 71% TS. They have found ways to execute with big plays both offensively and defensively in 90% of their clutch games. Their 1 clutch loss was the first game of the season: a 3 point loss to the Toronto Raptors.

They’re also [15-3 against the west](https://www.espn.com/nba/standings), Denver has the next best record against western conference teams at 13-8.

It’s been a magical season thus far for Wolves fans. Wolves have done the above with the 6th hardest strength of schedule in the league (Celtics #1 hardest SOS!). Granted, the team has had rest advantages so more back to backs are on the horizon.

Mike Conley believes “we haven’t really tapped into our potential yet.” Can this team win 40 games before losing 20 games?

15-4 against .500+ teams is bonkers.

Even playing 19 of the first 28 games against .500+ teams is crazy.

Edit: after looking into it, there are 19 teams that are .500 or above this season. Which means 62% of the teams the Wolves could play are above .500. Playing 19 of 28 games against that slate is 68%, so less crazy than I thought.

Clutch offense is so high because of MN Mike. He’s only been with us for like 60 games and he’s already one of all time favorite timber pup

Why do the kings have a top 2 defense in the clutch i swear that team makes no sense

Was going to say they’re the biggest surprise of the season but…poor Pistons.

  5. Timberwolves are legit. Early in the season, Celtics were missing White in their close loss to the Wolves, but they still surprisingly lost. That was a huge win for them and they have continued to prove that they are actually that good.

I’m not sure if they will actually make the Finals, but they show no signs of slowing down. What a turnaround from last season – great to see that everything is finally clicking for them.

  6. Minnesota’s not a city though. It’s a whole state, so the team has an unfair advantage.

    They could def get better.

There’s like a 5 point difference in +/- between their first half and 2nd.

If they could lock in early in games they’d be even more insane.

People will still say they aren’t contenders. Mostly because they don’t watch the Twolves.

Biggest surprise of the year; but take it from a sixers fan: only the playoffs matter

  10. IDespiseFatties

I’m not looking forward to this next game. Lakers, Denver, Minnesota, and Boston. Thunder is not having a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It’s a rough week.

Please post the Rudy trade receipts and the Karl towns is ass receipts. Ty.

They’re going to choke in the playoffs and we all know it

  13. Timberwolves are really, really good. At this point the only teams I think should be definitively favored against them in a playoff series are us and the Nuggets, and they’d have a shot in both of those series for sure.

  14. The sixers also have not lost more than 2 games in a row this season

  15. Raptors get a free meal on coach after 3 straight wins. Might need 2-3 years to cash in

They have played a total of 2 back to backs. They lost the back end of the first one to the suns, and the second back to back was against the lakers, who were also on a back to back and rested Lebron. The wolves won that one.

  17. Yeah and Embiid just dropped a 50 burger on em. I’m unimpressed.

They’re very good! It’s cool seeing things finally come together for them. And a lot of people clowned them for celebrating that play-in victory but even then it felt like a step towards this sort of success.

They’re really fucking good. I thought they’d have to unfuck the KAT taking a step back situation, but he’s been a peach from what I can tell, and it looks like he can get better now. The Wolves GM has gone from joke to visionary. I’m almost pulling for them. Anthony Edwards is one of my favorite players to watch.

Still hope my guys smoke you from the play-in slot.

  20. Now all this organization needs is for KG to have a role in it

  21. randycrouton

I’d like to see a stat on how many of the wins were against a team that was without their top player. I know we’ve won without Ant, KAT, or Jaden, but feel like we keep catching teams without their better players (Lebron, Zion, Curry, Hali, Ja, Markkanen, Embiid in the first game, etc). Obviously a win is a win, but it’s not as helpful for assessing how good the team actually is.

  22. Existing_Poem_7858

Realistically, it does not reflect the true state. They are good but not quite as good as the standings say. They had very little b2b, they beat New Orleans by one point where they didn’t had Zion, McCollum, they beat GSW without Steph, Sixers without Embiid, 2x crippled Memphis, Lakers without LeBron, Miami without Butler, etc. Boston, Denver, Bucks are better teams and 3-4 more are there up with them

  23. Imagine if this is the 2018 Bears of the NBA. They lose in the first round to the 8 seed Nuggets because Mike Conley missed a wide open layup to win it
