Dante’s inferno continues. if you remember, i made a poll here on whether Exum should start once Kyrie returns. r/Mavericks said yes too, though not by a landslide
I think this is the right call. We have no ability to play big, so our best chance is high effort/activity on the defensive side and having Luka *and* Grant isn’t conducive to that vision.

This should highlight how great our offseason was. Nico cooked

Exum and Jones have been crazy value additions. Hopefully we can keep Jones this off-season.

Kidd with the Kwanzaa miracle.

I like this. Green, Grant, and Timmy off the bench is gonna be fun. Get a back up center and I really like that rotation

Yeah, GWill isn’t panning out. We got to figure out a way to clear some cap in order to re-sign DJJ this off-season.

Curious. Feel like Dante and Djj guard the same type of player. Grant is more physical and can handle different type of players

This is a good running lineup but they would definitely be outmatched in strength especially against teams with more size. But it’s not like theyve had that advantage even beforehand lol

3 guard lineup has worked for us in the past. Add a legit center into the mix and I’m curious to see how that works.

We’re still to small it’s a good line up for the regular season but against teams like nuggets Celtics bucks bigger teams it’s not. If you look at the past champions they use big lineups my issue is that we need a legit pf upgrade and bench upgrade at c. Think about how we’ve looked against the nuggets were always out rebounded, out sized, there front court talent trumps ours, mpj and Gordon are like 6’10 and mpj is great shooter/scorer/and improved defender, Gordon is a great slasher and decent shooter great defender, we got nobody who can effectively match up with those guys, they get second chance points, I mean we need to trade for legit talent at pf and C to really compete against the best. Build for the playoffs not for the reg season.

If Grant continues to be underwhelming I get why Kidd would do this.
In the long tun, the Mavs need a big PF to start next to Lively. Grant is ultimately a bench player.

Grant off the bench is what made him thrive in Boston

They have both been absolutely fantastic. Crazy to think. AJ Lawson has been really good too.
Then Lively?? We were deep in the abyss after last season with not even making the play-in. And genuinely not having assets to turn the ship around.
Kudos to Nico. Even though he definitely couldnt have foreseen close to the success all these signings have been.
edit: I also wanted to add that Hardaway has become a different player. He took an awful lot of shitty shots every season but now he mostly just takes open shots and mostly passes when he doesnt have a good one.
