Possible Three Team Deal with Hawks and Knicks?

Why the Hawks do it

They finally get Pascal and they do it while keeping all of their draft capital and young players aside from AJ who doesn’t seem to be part of their long term plans. They were already shopping Capela before the season and I imagine they’d rather keep Hunter than Capela at this point. They go from a 2nd star that plays the same position as Trae to a better 2nd star that complements Trae.

Why the Knicks do it

They upgrade from RJ to Murray and they address their need at center. All it costs them to upgrade from RJ and add a center is a mid-late 1st in a year they have 2 1sts, and IQ.

Why the Raptors do it

IQ-RJ-OG-Scottie-Poeltl

Schroder-GTJ-AJ-McDaniels-Precious

IQ gets a shot at being a starting PG and seeing what he can do before becoming an RFA. He’s young and I believe he can do something like what Brunson did and really take advantage somewhere he gets the opportunity. RJ is still young and has shown lots of potential and flashes as a half court scorer. I see him as a good buy low opportunity. Maybe AJ just needs a change of scenery. I could see Darko really helping build him up.

The lineup has more shooting and more self creation in the half court around Scottie. The lineup is also much younger. We also get a 1st this year to replace ours that we’re losing.

I truly hope that Pascals trade value is not this low

There’s almost ZERO chance the Knicks trade with us.

The Raptors and Knicks are in the middle of a lawsuit.

  4. Getting nothing but shooting guards/wings back in the deal seems like probably not the best way to build around Scottie lmao

I like it a little. But we are only getting one player I like here back in the deal.

I’m also not convinced Knicks would get rid of RJ Barrett

Knicks say no and can’t trade with us anyways

Quickley and the Knicks seem headed for a divorce unless they pay up. That Dallas 1st is gonna be a mid to high 20s in this supposedly weak draft. Taking on Fournier does the Knicks a favor. Cut the knicks out and I’d rather trade exclusively with the Hawks and get DJM + Capela + Griffin instead of Barrett/Quickley/late 1st. Several teams need a starting C (Memphis, NY, GSW to name a few) so you can turn Capela into further assets. Can turn Murray into a better haul than Barrett + expiring Quickley. Not to mention saving Boucher who has trade value as well.

getting rj barrett and his contract is worse than getting nothing

Knicks fan here. Why the hell would we give up RJ, Quickley, and a pick for Dejounte and Capela?? Quickley has pretty much had just as much impact as Dejounte so far this year and we are winning with him out there. Dejountes lack of 3 point shooting would hurt our team more than help. Capela is also unnecessary since Hartenstein has been a phenomenal Mitch replacement so far. Knicks have ZERO incentive to do this deal. If anything, maybe a sign and trade of Quickley for OG happens this summer, but thats about it.

Easy no for the hawks. Dejounte doesn’t get moved for an expiring
